Ego CC Clearomizer Structure

Hi, I am still new to this and cannot find any specific info or diagrams of how the coil is structured. In this, I mean where the coil is in the tube for example. I know many just replace them in time but I like to mess with things to see if I can prolong life. How do I get to see the coil in order to do a dry burn and be able to get any crud off during cleaning?

I think I actually found the answer after deciding to sacrifice a coil (possibly)... I just saw the single piece of wick which was not wrapped by the coil and I thought the thing would all fall apart if I removed the upper silicon sleeve. I now see the coil. Is that single wick needed? Is it detrimental to remove or better to keep it in or is it a preference in operation that that decision will assert?

What type of Cartomizer are you talking about.

The reason I asked is that it seems there are about 3 main Cartoizers out there that go by about Dozen names each.
