Hi all! Just need to ask a question. I recently bought my ego twist 1000mah. Now i got this ego dct tank and it says that i must use this kind of cartomizer only https://www.ecigsupply.com/SmokTech-Factory-Punched-XL-Dual-Coil-eGo-Cartomizer-_p_569.html now is there any other option? Also it says its 1.5 ohms, is there any advantages of using a higher ohms if theres any other that will fit this tank? Sorry totally ignorant about the ohms voltage etc. still a newb here. Lastly for voltage setting is that just a matter of personal taste? Thank you

Hello zapmeister, welcome to the forums. Because of the way the ego dct is setup it only accepts their proprietary cartos. 2.0 ohms are available here EgO DCT 2ohm Dual Coil Cartomizer

Advantage are user preference. Increasing your carto resistance will give you more wiggle room when changing your voltage, and will produce different experiences depending on your resulting wattage. Voltage setting is a matter of taste, safety, and atty protection. Too much voltage for any specific resistance can cause the atty coil to break, and in extreme cases can cause battery failure. Look up ohms law and become familiar with it, and enjoy your vv device to its fullest.

Sorry to side track.... I'm lookin at trying carto tanks, I've seen some cartos w flange stated by seller to use w dct tanks. So if I get a dct tank, do I use normal cartos like Boge510 or do I get those w flange??

It's really up to you, both will work, the flange can help with leaking/moving a bit more than the un-flanged.

As long as they don't have a flange...
Also, the eGo dual coil tank takes a regular, not XL.
You could be spot on on this. :thumb:

I do not have this particular tank, but I was curious about vendor's restriction on the cartomizers to use in this tank. It doesn't say what length either the tank or cartomizers are, but judging just from the images, it does appear that the tank and carto's are shorter than the typical Smoktech tanks and carto's. I can't say for certain, but it appears both this tank and carto's are 35mm, or standard size.

If this is in fact true, any punched 35mm carto would theoretically work in this tank, flanged or un-flanged, including single coil Boges.

Any carto can be used in a DCT tank, with or without a flange. The flange does keep the carto from sliding toward the battery, but if you are reasonably careful, it is not necessary.

DCT tanks are typically 45mm in length, so they will require a carto of 45mm length (XL or mega in length). You can get Boge's in an XL length.

I prefer single coil pre-punched cartos in my tanks. I list several online vendors that sell these in my blog entries under my avatar.

It should be noted here: These tanks use the older clear polycarbonate plastic, which can fall victim to melting/cracking of the plastic should they be used with certain flavors that use cinnamon or citris.

I have always stayed away from the ego tanks etc... For one, they don't hold much liquid and for two, I started off with a plain flashlight mod and already had dct for that so just kept that going after I started buying egos.

Glad that you found what works for you.

I believe that the eGo tanks were designed for a more aesthetic appearance for the slimmer eGo batteries. The regular DCT tanks can appear rather top-heavy in appearance on an eGo.

I put xxl single coil cartos in all my dct's. In some tanks they stick out a bit, a friend of mine got an artemus locking dct and he thinks he can only use dual coils as well. I also use 801 cartos and 801 fusions in my dct's, as long as it's the right diameter and length any carto that fits will work:D

I have both tanks, and I had to dremel a flanged one to fit the eGo tank, you can use Xl's, they just stick up more ;)

Yeah, I understand that, but for me I just never cared for looks. I just wanted it to work and for the fewest $'s as possible. If they'd make a tank for ego that held more than 2ml I'd be all over it, I don't have time to mess with filling it up or whatever during the day and if I can't use it at work, I'm probably not going to use at home. I did use a clearomizer for a while, and it was a good vape but like I said didn't last. But just me.

Would 3.5ml help? I use these with my eGo Twists/Spinners with a cone to cover the threads, and it's the exact width of the eGo/Spinner...

Any 510 drip tip will work great in that.

I like the Cherry vapes from RTDVapor that you can find here Pawn Those are a little on the pricey side for some people so just get whatever that looks good to you. Id recommend buying 2 drips tips and keeping the extra with you when youre out of the house.

Never know when you accidentally knock your pv and shatter the tip.Trust me I did that once and had to use a straw to get through my shift....not fun.

You can also find ceramic, stainless steel, aluminum, glass etc just do a google search for 501 drip tips.

One last note: if you get a drip tip thats the same diameter as the carto, pretty much straight or tapered, like these 510/901/KR808d-1 Anodized Aluminum Drip Tips you can use it to insert the carto into tank and save the o-rings or grommets a TON of wear.
