Hi all, I've been vaping for about a year but recently went to a DCT tank system with a 1.5ohm dual coil cartomizer on an Ego battery. I've been reading that 1.5 ohms on a typical 3.4-3.7 volt Ego will 1/2 the life of my battery! I've read that I should not be using a 1.5ohm dual coil cartos in my tank as Ego's can't handle it. (I have a 1000mah Ego-T battery.) It's my understanding that the Mah rating only tells how long my battery will last between chargings not an indicator of how strong it is. Ok...so here's my question: Should I be using the above mentioned system on an Ego? If not what about installing a 2.0 single coil carto into my tank. Really need some answers from some of the more experienced vapers here.

Somewhere on this forum is a chart concerning voltage and ohms, showing acceptable ohms/volts. The Kgo is regulated to a consistent 3.7; the Ego isn't and fires at around 3.2-3.4. VR is correct; you really shouldn't use anything under a 2.0 ohm on an Ego; you can fry the atty and/or the battery. These are single coil attys I'm referring to: it's my understanding a dual coil effectively doubles the ohms; a 1.5 dual coil is effectively a 3.0 ohm device. That said; any LR carto eats up battery life. The Ego is a 650mahm I believe; the Kgo is a 1060mah.

I've heard they're not only bat killers - but know of one person who had his eGo go into thermal meltdown from one! Wonder why the eGo specific versions are made if this is so? I'll be saving my duel coils for my LavaTube and my e-power from now on.

My daughter was running a 1.5ohm carto in a tank with a 1000mah new battery and after about a month problems started. She put it on the charger and the button melted, the battery got screaming hot could barely touch it. Yup total melt-down. Not sure if it was from running the 1.5ohm all the time or the charger. Scary stuff!

Hi All,

I'm not an EgO owner, But I have several KGo batteries.

I routinely run 1.25ohm DC carts in it.. It puts out incredible vapor.. especially a 1.25ohm DC cart in a tank.

I usually get more than a full day on a charge.. ( I rotate 3 batteries.. 1 for use, 1 could be on the charger, and a back-up ready to go)

Just my experience..

For SC carts, I use mostly 1.7 or 2.0ohms. Boges or Smoktechs.. They are very nice as well.

Good Luck :)

Peace ,

Vin

The problem with running LR cartos or attys on an eGo, mod - single or stacked battery, regulated or not is the amperage drawn, not voltage or mah. Simply following ohm's law when you use a set resistance, and apply a voltage, you will draw a set amount of amps from the power source, IF the power source can provide what you're asking of it.

Smaller batteries, some mods, some electronics, many LiIon batteries can't provide the amperage that is demanded, which is one way of over stressing a battery or power supply. A 14500 comes off the charger at ~4.2v, so three stacked would be over 12v, but I wouldn't want to count on it to start my car.......:) A car draws even more cranking amps than vapers.
