Hello
Can anyone give me a detailed comparison between the ego on a genuine joye low resistance atomizer and a cartridge vs a joye ego mega cartomizer?
I'd like to know the difference in vapor production, draw, and throat hit if using the same
e-liquid.
Thanks
LR atomizer is 1.5ohms
mega eGo atty is the same as a regular 510 atty at 2.1
mega eGo carto is @2.3 ohms
So with the same voltage, you're going to get more wattage with the LR 1.5ohm atty and by experience, you get more vapor and I'd say a tad less flavor with the LR, but not significant enough not to use it, imo. For pure vapor and flavor it's still the best combination of anything I've tried.
That said, the same 1.5ohm atty on a true 3.7v mod loses much flavor (so does the 1.6-1.7 cartoz from Provapes, imo and this on some stronger flavors that I'm very familiar with.). So I'm still using the regular 510 atty on the 14500 batt based mods.
There is not much difference in vapor between the mega eGo atty and mega eGo carto.
I remove the mid cap in the carto which allows me to fill with a needle tip oiler bottle and the draw on it (and the mega eGo cart as well) is a much easier draw - the mouth piece is bigger than the 801 and the air channels are proporitionally bigger as well. Same with the mega eGo atty/cart combo.
Throat hit for me is the same but I vape VG at 11mg so while I know there's vapor in the mouth I'm not getting any of the usually more coarser throat hit from the nicotine but because the vapor production is good, it's as much as you'd get with an regular 510 atty.
And as Scott's cutaway shows in the tech forum, the polyfil is the same as the mega cart with no 'hole' in the center like the KR8 and other 510 cartos, it's an 'encapsulated' cart, so I can fill straight through the center holes as long as the mid cap is removed which has offsetting holes on either side of center. I've tried both ways and to me the draw is not that much different and yet to fill would be taking both caps off if I didn't use the needle tip bottle.
And as Scott pointed out, you could trim the 'skirt' around the connecter to make it fit any flush battery connection. Ie. won't work on the Protege 'well-type' adapter, but would on most. You can screw it on a 510 mega batt, just that the 'skirt' hangs over the top ;-)
