like every hit starts of with a big pop then lots of cracking, brand new clr head.

It started off perfect then after a few hits all I get is pops, hits harsh, any thoughts?

Sounds like you might have an Air Pocket or an Uneven Wick.

Sometimes Gently Rearranging the wick with a Straight Pin or a Small Needle can Help. Else you might just Pull Out the Factory Wick and Re-Wick it with your own cotton.

I'm using one of these right now and I get the exact same behavior. It's even more intense when you haven't vaped the tank in a while. The first hit is like tripple intensity. I think it's juice pooling up in the wick and on top of the spaced coil wraps. Then you fire the device and it vaporizes a larger quantity. I personally enjoy those first hits. I use Ti coils and since Ti has a quick ramp up time that may be making it worse. I've found backing down the temp at first or lowering the max wattage will lessen it.

I'll give opening it up and poking it a couple times. perhaps its just air or whatever.

Give it a Try. Just be Gentle.

And know that Sometimes you will get a Demonically Possessed wick. And No Matter what you do or No Amount of Threatening with a Butane Torch will help.

That is when a Wickus Removeus/Reinsertus is the Only Solution.

I enjoy them as well :)
