I purchased a Joyce eGo about 3 weeks ago and have been very satisfied with the performance with a standard 510 atomizer that came with the kit. The Joyce 510 atomizer is highly revered as a high quality, durable vaporizer and a standard in many e-cig applications.
From reading various forum threads about the superior performance of Low Resistance (LR) atomizers I decided to try one, which I then purchased from Nhaler. I received it today and immediately installed it on my eGo battery, loaded up a fresh cart with Tasty Vapor Amaretto Stone Sour (80/20 PG/VG) and gave it a spin.
The buzz on LR atomizers is they simulate the performance of vaping at 5 volts on a 3.7 volt battery witch the eGo is and which is the standard single cell lithium rechargeable battery voltage on non-mod PV'S.
Performance:
Since I don't own a 5 volt mod or pass through I can't make a direct user comparison. What I can say is the performance comparison between the standard 510 and the LR 510 atomizer with the same PV (eGo) and juice is much more than just a little better.
My vaping technique with the standard 510 was a one puff primer followed by a 2 puff inhale. This resulted in a true analog to e-cig vapor production comparison when exhaled.(total duration with manual battery about 8 seconds)
With the LR atomizer, it gets hot so quick that the primer puff is not needed and high vapor production is almost instant. A one puff (3 second duration) puff produces the same amount of vapor to me as a 8 second puff on the standard 510 atomizer produced.
The throat hit seemed the same, but the flavor of the juice really comes through. The vapor production just seems to be much more effortless and consistent through the life of the 8 drips or so of juice in a standard cart.
Of course this is just my experience and your vaping technique and experience may be different than mine but if you look at other threads written in this forum on LR atomizers you will see other similar positive experiences.
Obviously since I just got this LR atomizer I can't attest to the longevity before the performance diminishes or it dies all together. I have read that they don't last as long as a standard 510 does but even that depends on your personal vaping style an usage.
As it stands now I give the LR atomizer a two thumbs up an encourage you to try one if you are into experimenting to find the best vaping experience possible. I know there are a lot of variables to the vaping experience. PV, type of juice, different vendors of juice and flavoring used, PG/VG ratio etc. But this thing produces clouds of vapor with great flavor and if I had to put a number on it I would say a minimum of a 25% improvement in vapor and taste over the standard 510 atomizer.
Sorry if I rambled on but I just wanted to contribute my experience in the hopes it helps you if you are thinking about trying some new things. This forum and all the others that share have helped me try new equipment and juices which have increased my positive vaping experience greatly. I don't even think about analogs anymore after 35 plus years of smoking.
Happy to answer questions...and happy vaping to all!
P.S.
Also bought LR cartomizers and will review when I try them out. Wasn't to thrilled with the standard 510 cartomizers so we will see...
