I'm currently using a Kr808, which I'm happy with but am definitely intrigued withe Ego styles and would like feed back - I've heard some drawbacks to the T version (maintenance, flavor, TH). To any of you helpful folks out there, can you provide some insight for me? Can you provide a 1-10 (10 the best) scale rating on the below bullet points and models and a good site to find the starter kits and accessories?

1. Ego Riva SE - I'm most intrigued by this one. I assume this is better than any regular Riva?
2. Ego T - My buddy has this one, but I've heard a few drawbacks about it
3. Go - Go/Echo/ and all the other ones
  • Vapor Production -
  • Throat Hit -
  • Flavor -
  • Battery Life -
  • Battery Consistency -
  • Good sites to find this? I've heard Liberty Flights, but nothing is labeled as SE, so I'm not sure which it is
  • A fundamental explanation of the battery and resistance and what this means exactly.
  • I understand the MaH is the size of the battery and extends life, does a larger mean more vapor?
  • I understand the Low resistance (ohms right?) burns hotter, but how exactly does this affect vapor or anything else.
Thanks, all!

Any good website recommendations to find models?

Cropduster has the Echo and Riva 1100's Cropduster901.com

Mountain vapor has Echos Moutnain Vapor - High quality e-cigarettes, liquids and accessories.

CoolVapes has Echos Coolvapes, The home of the echo

Go-go USA has Go-Go's Go-GoUSA Go-Go Kits, Cartomizers and Chargers for all Go-go's

Nhaler has Go-Gos and Echos http://nhaler.com/

Cigeasy has Go-Go's http://www.cigeasy.com/

D and B Gold has Go-go's and Echos http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...m/194316-d-b-gold-has-echo-e-cartomizers.html

They all carry these but are sometimes out of stock. The smaller suppliers usually have the best prices but have a hard time keeping kits in stock but usually have stock constantly being re-supplied with a short waiting time. I have bought from all of these suppliers although Go-go usa just went in to business and I have ordered but not received equipment yet.

Tx is the man with the info! Good stuff man! :) Although I am predjudiced towards the GO-GO/Echo series I have used the Ego, Ego-T and Riva both SE and non-SE.

To keep it brief as Tx's ratings are almost exactly mine as well, all true Ego's use a regulated voltage meaning that you will get the same voltage which at 3.2-3.4 just doesn't satisfy some folks. Others are quite happy with it. The Riva SE for Special Edition, went to an unregulated voltage so your 3.7 battery starts at 4.1-4.2 fresh off the charger and diminishes down through it useful cycle between charges.

Many find that the unregulated 3.7 or "true" 3.7 provides a more satisfying vape. It generally is warmer and for many users, seems to produce greater vapor using standard resistance cartos or atty's. I have seen nothing to back this up scientifically but for the juices I use, starting at 4.2 is more satisfying than 3.4 for me. As to vendors, there probably are, but I have not dealt with anyone better as to price and warranty/service than Liberty Flights.

Finally, the Echo/GO-GO/Igo are of the "true" 3.7 described above. Add a horizontal coiled carto that holds 3-3.5ml of juice and an 1100-1300 mah battery and you have a winner at the current state of technology for many. And yes, the larger the Mah, the longer use (in general) between charges. Also, if you take the unregulated or true 3.7 and double the size of the battery, that just means you get a longer time the battery is running at a higher voltage than say a 650 or 750mah battery.

Hopefully some folks happy with their Ego's will jump in and provide their perspectives so you can have a better informed decision but again, when I found the GO-GO and it's similar types, I sold my Ego stuff off simply due to the fact that those types did what I wanted and allowed me to switch 100% to vaping where the Ego's couldn't for my situation and likes. :)

The usual disclaimer: I use all 100% PG tobacco flavored e-liquids all the time. Your mileage may vary.

Personal Preferences:

A tie for First Place: Go-go and The Leo (with 4ml gigantic carto)

A tie for Second Place: The Echo and the eGo with Echo-e carto

Third place: Any of my manual or automatic CigEasy KR808 batteries with Gold Label Deluxe cartos or the new Mini-Go-carts.

Disclaimer #2: I have never been disappointed using any of the e-cig models since my starter kit arrived in the mail. I easily quit smoking with the starter kit and if e-cig technology stopped in its tracks at that point … I’d still be happily vaping away with KR808 batteries and cartos. Vaping started out pretty good and only got better. When I first began Frank @ CigEasy said, “There’s nothing better than a new cartomizer on a freshly charged battery.” It was true then and true today.

Last Saturday we were leaving the house for a Family Fun Day. All my batts were charged up, I had a new shipment of various cartos, so I had a lot to choose from. Which e-cig should I bring? I took a drag from each and The Go-go won. With 3mls in the Go-cart, and the Go-go fully charged, I was out the door.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. With a 1300 mAh battery, and a large capacity horizontal coil cartomizer, we’re 95% where we want to be. The last 5% is personal preference and taste.

Here’s the real test for me. I got this email from Frank:

An EMP blast just took out all your e-cigs. It destroyed all your cartomizers too! Yeah! Your ultra sonic cleaner as well- He he!

What do you do? What do you do?

Your wife said you can buy one kit but you begged and pleaded on bleeding bended knee (with tears running down your face) and she gave in and now says two.

What do you buy?

A Go-go. For my second kit … another Go-go.

The GO-Go is looking enticing, but how big is it with the 1300? I'm definitely not hung up on looking like a real cigarette anymore, but I also don't want a baseball bat - My buddy's Joye EGO is a decent size.

Second, you say large capacity horizontal coil cartomizer, do the starter kits typically come with those? What sort of resistance carto's would I use withe GO-GO? I'm looking at the various vendors and sadly, don't know what all of the things mean -

-- what is a drip tip?
--Is the cone just for aesthetics?

Price-wise, liberty flights Riva kits, two 750 mAh batteries, runs just about $30 after the ECF discount -- two batteries, charger, couple atomizers, some cartridges. Solid product, good customer service, good shipping.

Add some Boge 2 ohm (LR) cartomizers -- painless, and the 2 ohms gives you about the same warmth/vapor as an 808 with standard 3 ohm carto (lower voltage in the 510 family).

I used Rivas for several months, after months using 808. They're solid, good run time. Now I've moved to a mod, but had no regrets with the Riva.

I've always thought CigEasy's deal on Go-go's was really good.

2 Go-GO 1300 mAh Batteries
5 Prefilled 3ml GO Carts (I don't know anybody who does that.)
1 GO Cone
1 USB Charger
1 Wall Adapter

And a bonus 10ml bottle of e-liquid!

All for a nickel under 60 bucks.

(We now return you to our regularly scheduled programming)

The Go-Go is a little fatter and a little shorter than a ego 1,000, it is 16.5 mm vs 14mm for the ego and Echo. Yes the starter kits come with 3ml cartos the Echo carto holds about .5ml more than the Go-go. The drip tip is primarily used for dripping into an atty but on the Go-go and Echo it is used to replace normal mouth piece and not for dripping. If size is a problem the Echo comes in a 650 battery also which is the same size as the 650 ego. The Echo is an automatic with a cone shaped carto wheras the Go-go is a manual with carto and a seperate cone that goes over the carto. It isn't necessary to have cone on but it does affect the airflow a little and looks better with it on.

And none of these use the highly touted tank technology with the direct flow of juice to the atomizer? Is it all it's cracked up to be?

I haven't had any luck with tanks myself but they keep improving the technology everyday so I'm sure they will get some that work good soon.

My experiences with tanks (including the Ego-T types, MAP type and their clones) has been less than satisfactory as well. For my use, factoring in the juices I use, etc, the flavor tends to be a tad more muted. You mileage may vary but also with the cartos versus the tanks, carrying one on its side or laying it down on a desk, etc. will increase the chances of leaking with a tank.

Agree with Tx they will get it figured at some point but a good carto cuts down on the number of things to mess with and keeps it much more simple. For most of us, the simpler to use means we can focus more on the tasks or activities at hand and not fuss with our e-cigs nearly so much. :)

I have no idea where I'm at
Sometimes it is as simple as a trade-off. I started with a KR808, got sick of constantly having to fool with it, charging 4 in rotation, cleaning all the time, replacing filler, burned tastes, etc.

I Picked up an ego-t and have loved it ever since. I clean it when I change the wick (easy and fast), no leaking, even when leaving it lying down with a tank in it for 2 weeks while on vacation, and the flavor/TH are good. I guess I could get more flavor, but I am willing to trade a minimum of fuss for that.

I considered the go-go, and I remembered the horizontal bottom feeder cart that I picked up for the kr808, if I remember correctly it was the CE, the first small one that did the same thing as the go-go does now, and held more liquid than the regular carts. It was stainless steel, so no problems with easy breakeage, but it too was a pain sometimes. In some ways I like the idea of a clear cart so you can see what level fluid you are at, but seems too delicate.

There is a couple of new items for the ego/ego-t/510 if you go that route: there are CE2 version 5's and there is also a dual coil cart. With these systems you could try tanks, carts, LR's, dual coils, etc.

I have had the ego-t for months now and am very happy with the tank system, but I am going to try the CE2-XL-R5 and the dual coil for a change. This way I can still use my ego batts.

Hope that helps.

Saludos,

Fidel
