Type A is cone shaped atty with a 1ml tank.
Type B is cylinder shaped with a 2ml whistle tip tank.

I can't say for sure about the colors of the 'official' egos but I don't think joyetech makes purple ones. Perhaps you could post a link ?

Is this your first PV? If so, I'd like to make some additional recommendations about getting a eGo-T...

I started off with an Ego T Type A but the battery died after a week :-( Then moved onto a B type which is awesome...when the atty's work. So far after nine atty's, the longest of which lasted week, and a lot of wasted money on shipping and extortionate local prices I am currently re-evaluating my choice of PV. I second Homedude about getting more info about the Ego T if you haven't already purchased it.

I actually use an eGo-T and think its a great PV, I love the 1000mAh USB batteries. BUT for someone just starting out with an eGo-t , I encourage them to also get at least 1 510 atty, 1 pack of 5 510 cartomizers, 1 drip tip and 1 cone. These are things that they'll end up buying at some point in the future anyway and it's easier to just get it out of the way now. The 510 atty is great for trying out flavors and the 510 cartomizers are just convenient and dependable. I still use the T attys and tanks but I think they should be put on the shelf until the new vaper is comfortable with the learning curve and ready to start tinkering and tweaking. I can get great flavor and vapor from my T tanks but it takes a lot of effort to get there... more effort and frustration than someone who is trying to quit cigarettes should have to deal with.

This is not my first PV. I bought an 808, thought I liked it untill I went to a local shop and they let me demo a 510T and a Ego-T. I liked both of them, I bought the 510T because it was smaller, and felt like it would be a better fit out in public. Now I'm finding out the battery life is fine while I'm at work, but at home on the weekends I would like to have something with better battery life.

I was looking online to find a vendor to buy one from so I could get some different type of juices, when I noticed there is a A type and a B type.
