I purchased an Ego-T in April and for the first two months it worked amazing. After a few cleanings of both attys that came with the kit they both began to start to draw hard and produce less and less vapor. I have tried so many methods of cleaning from near boiling distilled water to cleaning it with alcohol. The only method i have yet to try is to disassemble it due to the fact i don't want to break something that may just need something else done to it to make it work. I have read so many forum posts on how to clean it and i promise i have tried everything i have read that is in my skill level. Should i just buy new ones or is there something else. i don't feel 3 months is a long time and even though i may be wrong i shouldn't have to replace it this early should I?

Here is a good video for taking the T atomizers apart here

And here is a good one showing disassemble, cleaning and dryburn.

Also, if you need to replace the wick there is SimpleCJ's method.

For the hard draw I found that it could be a blockage in the air intake at the connector end, what helps for me is after cleaning/dryburn to fill a cup/mug with very warm water and put the connector end in the cup, and then draw the water through the atomizer by "sucking" on the mouthpiece end.
I do this 3 or 4 times then blow out the atomizer, dry and prime with juice.

Hope that helps,
Wing.

Thank you Wing.

I'm going to take apart the atty and that video makes it seem so easy. I appreciate the super fast response as well.

No problem, as others have noted 3 months on a atomizer is doing really good. if cost is a issue you might want to try a 5 pack of eGo-T Atomizers from GH1 for 29.99 and select China registered airmail(cheapest shipping). It can take around a month to receive them though. My orders usually come in around 3 weeks from ordering, fastest was 2 weeks. EMS is faster but more expensive.

I have had good luck with them, just be careful while dryburning or they will pop, small 3 second bursts are best and once the coil glows red stop. Popped one this way myself by over doing a dry burn.
As a plus of that though I took it apart without damaging the cone itself and the internally they look like the Joye ones, even used it to make a new eGo cone for use with my cartomizers.

Thanks again Wing. i just ordered a 5 pack and i figure i can see about fixing the ones i have while i wait. I actually had a friend over who vapes an ego-t and he actually takes his apart every time he cleans it which is about once every 3 days. He showed me how to clean it and how to adjust the wick to my preference. Thanks for all the fast responses, this is the first forum i have tried that took less then a week for a response.

The wick is "everything" to the Ego-T. If it is not adjusted properly, and touching the coil, you are not getting the full pleasure. And chances are, if you have not disassembled and cleaned it...who knows?
I rotate two attys. I use one for 7 days, pull the needle plate and clean. (Fire up my second atty during this time.) My cleaning method is to remove the needle plate, use iso alco and soak and let it run thru the air ways, wick i use tweezers, swish in the iso and then remove to dry. Tank i dis-assemble rinse in warm water...them submerge in the iso to santitize for germs. I let it lay to dry out for 7 days while im vaping on my 2nd atty.

When I got my eGo-t, one of the atty's worked fine. The other one wouldn't work when attached to the battery. It wouldn't let air flow. I took it to work, took the needle plate out and looked at it under a microscope. The coil was installed too low and was blocking the air-hole. I just took some tweezers and tweeked it up and to the side a little to expose the air-hole. Works great now. From the sound of your case, Wingcommander is probably correct.

I removed the wick and adjusted it, i soaked the atty in pro alc for 15 minutes and swished the wick in it as well. im going to leave it out for at least 48 hours from what im told. i was also told i can dry burn but its the least safest way to clean it.i will let it sit for a few and see what happens.

24 hrs should be good enough. Unless you have extra attys, thats the only reason i let them dry for a week. My 510 attys, i use to clean with iso, and use 24 hrs later.:D
Also the other reason l left the attys unassembled is when i put them back together, i drop two drops of juice on the coil, so when i fire them up, there is no wick burning/and or nasty taste.
I dont want juice sitting in my atty for days without using it. Common sense!

Dry burning can make the wick hard and then it might need changing . I would do that as a last resort . I do have a tank and I do give it a shot or two at 5 volts on my provari but as a rule I avoid over doing a dry burn . I don't use a tank often though because of the issues with them and lack of performance .

Well, for carto's and atty's it would be a while but for an ego-t. Nope, it still has some life in it. The best way to disassemble or remove the metal plate is to purchase a hemostat. For example:

Excel 5 Inch Curved Nose Hemostat - 55530 - Model Kits Tools & Buildin

*This can be bought at your local Walgreens, Walmart, Target, etc.

Just grip both sides firmly and pull. It's that easy. Once you get it off, you will see that the wick is pretty gummed up if it's still attacked to the metal plate. Honestly, I have never had the wick that was stuck to the coil. If it is than use the hemostat and lightly grasp the wick and pull it off of the coil. To clean the wick you would use a lighter and just light it up for quick second and then blow the flame out. I know it sounds crazy right now but, it's normal for such a thing to happen. Keep repeating that until the wick is white again. Afterwards, just place the plate and wick aside for now.

Clean the atomizer as you usually would. But, once you take it out of the heated distilled water. Blow it out of both sides to remove access water and then start doing a dry burn. Which involves putting the atty onto the battery and pressing the button for about 2 seconds and letting go for 1 second. Do this a few times and then let it rest to prevent the coil from popping.

Keep repeating those steps. Smoke will eventually form due to the old liquid that's been gummed up on your coil. Once all the old liquid turns to ashes. Take a toothpick and LIGHTLY scrape it off and re-submerge it into the heated distilled water. Then take it out of the water and again, blow all the access water out of it. Repeat if necessary (if the coil is still dirty which in most cases it still is) and let it dry for 24 hrs. You will have an atty that works like new again. The biggest trick is to repeat the steps listed above.

This is because even if you think it's clean while it's actually not. Once you re-assemble everything and take your first puff after a few primer puffs to get it to wick obviously. You WILL have the infamous burnt flavor that seems impossible to remove but it's actually not. It's just that the coil hasn't been cleaned properly and requires an additional cleaning. You know if you done this right because it will work just like new again.

You have just been helped by an ego-t type B fanatic LMAO!!
