I've searched this forum hard for answers with no luck so decided to post. I have two new Ego-T's. One 1100mah and one 1300mah fatboy, both with bottom feed clearomisers. The issue I am having is that my 1100mah battery flashes 3 times whenever I attach the tank and does not fire. When I push the button without the tank on it lights up and stays constant like it should. I have pushed the button and held it while screwing on the tank it will fire once connection is made. However, as soon as I try to fire again I get a blinking light 3 times without fire. It does this with two out of three tanks I own. I have tried lifting the center platform on the battery, lowering the pin on the clearo's, cleaning the connection etc... Nothing works. It acts as if it shorts out the moment the tank is threaded on. Im clueless as what to do to fix this issue. I have tried charging the batterey, 5 clicks on/off, and the 10 click reset. Any body out there that can reach out to me and help? My Ego-T 1300mah works great with every tank I put on it, but this 1100mah is being stubborn. Im pretty new to all this so any advice is appreciated. Thanks. I hope this makes sense.

Hi and welcome to ECF!

Usually when it flashes and doesnt fire its protecting itself. If you take that tank and put it on the other battery now is it not only firing but actually vaping properly? I figured this out on accident - my SO roasted a coil and didnt know it (coil was just getting old and past its prime) He had the same issue - he put it on his Winder and his eGo 100 and it would just flash and not fire. I took it off and put it on my SVD and it registered .8 - I guess as they die they can go all sub-ohm wonky.

Hoping this is all it is :) let us know!

Does the same tank work fine on the other battery? It is very possible the coil in the tank came already shorted out.

Does sound like it's not happy about the tanks and won't fire to protect itself.

Had a similar thing with a Ego-T battery that vaped fine but refused to charge, so once it was empty that was it. Would flash about 10 times when connected to the USB. I figured the internal controller must have been duff. Vendor didn't have a DOA return policy so ended up gathering dust in a drawer.

Does sound like your battery is kaput though. Hopefully it's not however and someone can offer a fix. You seem to have tried all the obvious stuff already though :(

Welcome to the forums :D

Thanks guys for the responses. This is to all of you.... All my connectors are clean and dry, the pin in the battery is centered (I made sure if that), and this batterey works great with the tank that came with it(protank) so I know that the batterey is not kaput. And all the tanks fire and vape great on my other batterey. I just want to get this thing working so I have a reliable backup. If I knew how to post a vid on here I would so I could better show you what's going on.

If you have a spare coil - replace it...I would bet a dollar (hey - Im poor! I got vape stuffs to buy) that fixes it.

Ya I will try that too. My local store is closed today grrr.

Rats! Well either way - let us know how it pans out. My thought is its starting to go and one battery is just more sensitive to the weakness. It may be a crackpot theory - but thats the only thing that ever made the button flash without firing excluding a dead battery. A bad connection means the light will stay solid the coil just wont heat up and vaporize anything. A bad battery and it would flash at everything. So thats all I got....lol

*fingers crossed its just a coil*

It does sound like the 1100 batt can't handle the tank, for whatever reason! Very strange, and I've never experienced this (so far, but I'm as green as they come!)

I agree with changing the coil if you can and seeing if that works, it's cheap enough to do and you have a backup coil if it doesn't fix it :D

Let us know how you get on though, and hope it's a quick fix!

I will let you all know what the issue is (if I ever figure it out lol) what do you think of this? I push the button to fire without the tank on, the light stays on constant. While holding down the button I screw on the tank until it makes contact and I get a great vapor hit! Now right after I get that marvelous hit I try to take another one and I get the stinkin blinking light again 3 times without any fire. It only works if I hold the button down and crew on the tank at the same time then take a hit. Remove tank and repeat. So frustrating. If I screw on the tank, then push the button to draw nothing happens. Just 3 blinks on the light/button. Do you hear what in trying to say?

I hear what you're saying - I really think your coil is toast and the battery is trying to protect itself. I would reserve this tank for last choice use and then use it as minimally as possible on the battery it is not angering until you get that new coil tomorrow. Don't risk breaking a perfectly good battery trying to use it (not to mention how close it is to your face) :)

I really don't know - it does sound like the battery is sensing the tank when connected prior to you hitting the power, when you hit the power the batt says "no".

With the button held it may be firing and connecting the tank is forcing it to power the tank....which I'm guessing the battery won't thank you for.

Really stumped why it would continue firing though when you reattach the tank, I'd expect it to cut off.

Hope you can work it out though, this would infuriate me too.

Hey r77r7r- yeah im new to vaping and so far I like it. I have kicked away the cigs since I started vaping about 2 weeks ago. Not a single one. Is my brand not good (eGo-T) ?? It was a good deal I thought considering I wasn't sure if it would work for me. I will upgrade to something better soon. Any suggestions? Im sure I will be vaping from now on. Im really enjoying it.

I quit using two Ego-T batteries (650mah I think) and had no issues with quality, hence the confusion! It's a decent setup to get off the stinkies.

Ego batteries are the bread and butter of vaping really, most people used them at some point. I still use mine while my batteries for my variable voltage mod are on charge and they have served me well (only been at it two month, but they still work hard and have not let me down aside from the one battery that won't charge). I have over six Ego batteries that are backups and work fine. Use them when driving too, my Vamo V5 with a 18650 battery and a iClear30 is far too big to vape while driving for me (safely at least).

All of mine are branded Ego-T on the bottom, too.
