eGo T draw problem

Hi, I put together an eGo T from parts. I had a multi-voltage 650mah pass through battery and was using a 510 atomizer and cartridge. The other day I bought an eGo T atomizer and some tanks (type B). I cannot get any draw when I have the atomizer tightened up to the battery. If I loosen it to just before the battery connection is lost I just barely get air flow. If I'm not careful I end up sucking in straight juice. Any ideas??

Try another atty to single out if your atty is trashed.

I had one of those.....couldn't get any draw thru it at all when attached. I'm fortunate to have a local shop and took it directly back...it was a defective.

have you tried different tanks and attys? can you blow straight through the atty without it being attached to the battery or tank?

You may have an incompatible battery, but try this first, remove the tank from the atty. Remove the atty from the battery. Blow through the THREADED end of the atty, if the pressure seems excessive you likely have a questionable atty. If the pressure seems normal as compared to say blowing through a cartomizer then you likely have your intake holes on the battery end of the atty blocked/mal-formed or just plain missing.The eGo attys only have two intake holes, one on either side,covering either or both when you depress your button may also be the culprit. I have had more than a few times where i would press the button with my thumb on back hole and forefinger on front hole causing almost no way to draw air through the atty. Let us know what gives. How are you taking a draw from it? The ego-T does have a slightly tighter draw and so, you should try taking a light and slow draw on it. You will get more vapor and TH this way. Actually developed my 5 second drags from using an ego-T.

If you take sharp and short draws then yes, you could feel as if you had no air flow. Which is what it sounds like when your describing your issue.

Thanks for the input! I am able to blow through the atty. Everything feels fine until I screw on the battery. Just for giggles I drilled a small hole in the side of the atty to see if it would help, and it does a little, but I still have to keep the battery loose on its threads. Given all that, I am able to get reasonable amounts of vapor and a good throat hit by taking long, slow drags so all is not lost. Compared to the 510 it is still a lot more "work"! Next up will be a cartomizer I guess. I've only been vaping for about two weeks, and have been able to stay away from the analog smokes. I'm glad I found this forum and really appreciate everyones input.

I've found that for the EGO-T, sticking only to actual JoyeTech brand stuff seems to work best. Might be the same if you stuck to all the same for other EGo-Ts too, but it seems that the manufacturing variances from vendor to vendor affects fit/finish/performance.

For better air flow get a toothpick and take out the middle of the mouthpiece and the middle part under that. It's like sucking a golf ball down a garden hose with those in there.

I totally agree with you on the Ego-T actual JoyeTech brand at least on the Atty's. I've gone through 4 really bad no labels at 6.00 apiece so I didn't feel too bad when I had to trash all 4. I will say the Atty that I described in an earlier post was a Joye brand and it was verified defective by my local vendor and it was new never used. He said it's very rare to get one like that but it happens.

I got it figured out. Looking at a 510 atty at the bottom of the threads there are two small holes so air can be drawn through. On the eGo atty I have there are no holes. The only way to draw air through it is to have a loose battery connection that the air can get through. When I drilled the small hole in the outer skirt of the atty the drill bit went across the top of the battery connector and made a small gouge in it allowing a little air to make it in. My next move will be to see if I can make it larger to allow more air. I know I should just toss it, but I'm cheap, and besides, I need a challenge for the week end!

I will double check any future eGo attys before plunking down the cash!

Postscript:
Well, I guess I lied. Using a metal probe with a bent end I did find an air hole just above the threads of the atty. It was plugged up with who knows what before I bought the thing. I was able to clear it out and now the eGo T works like a champ and is only slightly worse for wear...
