New member....forced to post here first.....OK....35 year analog smoker, bought Ego-T two weeks ago and immediately quit 'logs. Worked good for 3 or 4 days, no urge to revert and then disaster. It was dragging hard with no air flow and no satisfaction, hitting so hard I kept sucking juice into mouthpiece and even got a few tastes of juice. Tried new atty, cleaned atty's, bought LR atty's, going thru juice like crazy, most of which was not via a vape, tried thinning and thickening juice, what a mess. Got pretty dejected, but still no 'logs. Found this website and started search to figure out the problem. Gracias amigos....the tiny g-hole at base of battery threads on atty was the problem. Made a tool to fit and am thrilled to report the Ego-T is working better than new, no juice hits, no juice mess, tons of vape. Have gotten into DIY juices already....had to dilute all the ones made when Ego-T was not working properly as they were too flavorful for a proper working PV. Favorite flave is either apple/cinnamon or chocolate/spearmint. Sure wish I could post a thank you to the member who posted thread on how to find the g-hole and get the Ego-T to vape better than new....someday!

Great advice. Can you post a link to the article about the g hole and where to find it, what to do with it, and how to make the tool? That would be great. I would really love to read it. I am using a Super eGo and I wonder if it would work for that too. I also just ordered an eGo T addy so I'd like to know how to fix it if I run in to the same issue as you. Cheers!

G-spot... LMAO!!

I also have an Ego-T. I started out with a regular 910 and upgraded a couple of weeks ago. After I bought it, I read all the horror stories about leaking, burnt taste, dead attys, etc. Mine has worked pretty well thus far. Yes, there is a slight drop in flavor, but I get loads of vapor. The other day, I had to finally clean my first atty. I switched to my back up and it worked wonderfully for a couple of days while the other one was soaking in vodka. Then, last night, I noticed a drop in vapor production. So I got the cleaned atty and dropped the other one in some vodka. Well, the cleaning didn't work too well for the first one. It's just... weak. I'll be sad if I already killed an atty, but I know they are disposable parts and I tell ya, when the ego-t works, it works fantastically! I just ordered another atty @ $12.95 :-( and I am hoping the other one is able to be salvaged through cleaning.

Has anyone else had this experience with the tank attys? If so, do you recommend any cleaning methods that don't require me to take apart the atty?

On another thread, Atomizer cleaning (510-eGo-t) I suggested steam cleaning and running through ultrasonic cleaner. These seem to do the trick for me.

Any tank will leak if not used properly... and any tank will NOT leak if used properly. Took me some time/trial/error to figure it all out. Try blowing out your attys after every tank or every other tank. They can flood easily.

Thanks.

OK, after you find it, what do you do? The tank attys drive me so nuts I threw them in the drawer. Every once in awhile I pull them out and fiddle with them, then throw them back in the drawer. I feel like I'm performing a vasectomy on a flea. I thought my eyesight was pretty good until I started fooling with this stuff.

When I haven't discovered ultrasonic cleaning yet, I just wiggle the pin around the hole to hopefully take out any gunk that's blocking it {to be honest, I cringe while I'm describing it :oops:}

But ultrasonic cleaning is where it's at for me now. No messing around with the parts. Do 3 cycles every weekend and it's good as new. Cheap from Harbor Freight as well, just $25.

I can't see it either, it's way hidden

What is the hole there for... what purpose does it serve?
cheers
It's for air intake, based on what I've read, in conjunction with that bigger hole at the end of the post.

I too love the ego t's and since using them on my Buzz at a higher voltage I have had no problems. I have cleaned them twice once with distilled water and once with denture tabs. I perfer the denture tabs. But I am on the look out for a ultra sonic cleaner. I ordered the Turbine tank atyy from Got Vapes. It should be here tomorrow

I really like the original (Type A) but recently got the new Type B atty and tank and it is a real improvement.
I only ordered one atty to see if it was worth it. Just ordered a second atty. (yes the first one is still working)
Since everyone so far on this thread seems to love their Ego-T's thought I'd pass that along. Well worth trying and the type B tank holds 2 mil.

It is almost impossible to find that tiny hole, even with reading glasses and a loop and great lighting. Much easier to just take small paper clip and put the tiniest L-shaped bend you can make and then go below the threads on battery side of atty...all the way down and keep turning atty until the L finds a hole. Once you find it, then try to view it with magnifier...got to find the perfect angle and good lighting. Once you know it is there, then work on making a tool or altering paperclip to allow you to poke around that hole to keep it clear....if that hole gets a tiny bit plugged the airflow drops and the vape decreases.

Yes, also blowing out the atty helps sometimes. Another airflow restricter I have found are the channels on each side of tank. Any vape you suck in has to travel thru those two channels and I have found a couple tanks where empty mouthpiece blow was restricted. A toothpick or a large needle will fit in those channels and you can open them up a little. Repeatedly pressing the tank into atty tends to eventually close them up. Mouthpiece should draw or blow unrestricted before attaching to atty.

I also removed the inner of the two plastic pieces in mouthpiece. Not sure what its function was other than to eventually cause a problem. I guess it helps keep e-liq out of your mouth when improper working PV causes fluid to build up in channels/mouthpiece. TIP: When the ego-t is working properly you won't get any e-juice up that far without doing a 15 minute atty killing vape.

Thicker VG juices seems to need occasional primer hits.....thinner juices go thru my ego-t quick, like a tank in 3-4 analogs work of vapes.

WARNING:::: I have been doing this vape thing for 2 weeks. Other than knowing that when my PV works good, I am satisfied AND when it doesn't work right I need to fix it......I know nothing!

Thanks. How long have you been using it? I loved my first one too until it died and got a replacement and it never worked correctly. I'd really love to see a 6 month review on these things to see how long they're lasting for everyone.

Edit: this was for Luther, I should have used the quote function.

Fishbugman, thanks for the info. All I'm getting with my second atty is no flavor, no vapor. I don't know if it's a wick issue, a blocked issue (I doubt it) or what.

Tanks are new technology and still need some work. They have the potential to work great, but they're definitely high-maintenance and suck down juice. I figured mine out after about a week... and was able to get consistently-good hits without any leaks. Keep at it!

To Swedishfish, about 2 weeks solid. I haven't had to clean it or any kind of maintenance thus far.
I have not tried juices that clogged my "A type" up though. Like JC's Red Oak.
Since I only have 1, I didn't want to screw it up. My new one should be here this week and then I can roll the dice.
I mostly have been using AV, Bluemist and BWB juices with the B type so far. BTW I'm still on my first tank as well.
It shows no signs of damage,no leaks. I have been filling it with a syringe.
