So I broke down after my 510 died and bought the Ego-T kit /w 650mHA battery. I noticed however, that my battery does not have the EGO branding as I have seen pictures on the internet. Also, it seems that after the first initial charge it takes 2-3 minutes of vaping for the atty to heat up and start producing non-dry tasting vapor. I have tried new atomizers, dripping a few drips in before inserting the cartridge, but still the issue persists. Any ideas? Do you think my batteries are knock offs? I also noticed my kit never came in a retail box, it came in a cheap branded case from the vendor I purchased it from.

Wouldn't say they were a knock off for sure. Mine don't have ego written on them because they were from totally wicked but they should be ego batteries.

What kind of eliquid do you use? Do you know? The thinner the liquid is the better it will be with the tanks so try to get in some thin pg based stuff if you can from a decent vendor.

EgoTs are good if you get past the learning curve. First thing to check, did you blow them out when you first got them? There's "primer" in there that tastes awful, make sure you got it all out.

Tanks take a while to wick, so fill the carts (leave an air bubble in there, don't totally fill them) and make sure it's tight on the atomiser (twist it down). Suck through the mouthpiece gently for a little bit (tanks work on negative pressure and sucking through them helps them wick) then vape it. Give the tanks time to wick, a few minutes at least from the first time you fill them.

You can't chainvape tanks either. They need to suck in more liquid so use more than one atomiser on rotation. When one is feeling dry, sit it upright and use another and you should be golden.

You can try to push the wick down in the piercing straw in the middle of the atomiser but I wouldn't reccommend it straight away. Give it a day or two and if it's still too dry for you all the time, podge the fibres down inside the straw very carefully and only by a small amount. You can also get a fine needle and make a small hole in the wick itself which may help but if the hole is too big and deep it may be beyond repair so do that as a last resort.

If they still aren't working out for you, I'd reccommend some 510 cartos. If you still have your 510 atomisers they'll fit your ego. You can direct drip into the old 510s for a decent flavourful experience too.

Thanks for the help.
I will try giving them a few dry puffs and let them settle for awhile. If I fill a tank and let it inside the atomizer will it do any damage or flood it? I'm guessing now as you said its gravity fed.

Not really, no. It's ok to leave them inside, it wont damage them but it may leak a little. If you leave them for an entire day or more you may get minimal leaking from the bottom. It's more about where the wick is and how thin or thick the liquid is.

If you're going to have them unused for a while lay them on their side rather than straight up and you shouldn't have a problem. It takes a fair while for it to wick so much it leaks out the bottom.

One thing to watch for is bubbles in the liquid. Once it's on and wicking little bubbles come up and sit around the straw. Just take the cart off and put it on again and they should make their way to the top again.

Eventually you'll get a little liquid in the air vents in the cart too from condensation. If it's feeling hard to get any pull from them just take it off and blow hard out the mouthpiece onto a paper towel or something and it'll be good to go again.

The tanks are a little annoying. It's not that they don't work, they just don't work all the time. Once you get used to them though they're really good. Hang in there you'll get there in the end.

Here are a few pics of the battery, as I would like to know if they are legit or not. I have not contacted the vendor yet but in the images they have on the website all have the eGo label and stamp.

The "Genuine" eGo is manufactured by Joyetech. The most popular so called "knock off" is manufactured by Smoktech. Both of these companies are located in the Baoan District in China. So chances are the parts used for the manufacture of both products come from the same supplier. And actually after doing some research I'm finding that the two different companies which are manufacturing the same product differently have about the same rate of failure/customer dissatisfaction. Lots of companies will rebrand something to make it an advertising tool. Is a Toyota a bad car compared to a Lexus? No. They are the same vehicle made with the same parts, just that one charges a lot more for being able to show off their insignia on your ride.

Sad Panda... it's not the battery, if the atty tastes bad, or hits weak... I mean sure, the battery might not be producing adequate voltage, or the atty is resisting too much power, but I've noticed that very thing with 650 mah batteries NOT made by smoktech, these came from Totally wickede-liquid.com... I honestly have no Idea where theirs come from, but it's not smoktech... I have 4 batteries from smok, and Only 1 has a slight voltage issue, but that only happens after a day of use, the other three, which are the same, work for upwards of 2 days before I notice a power drain, and I never put the thing down... These are all 900 mah batteries, and wired the same way as other brands, they just don't say eGo... but they perform every bit the same...

Well, I have noticed that if i hook my Ego-T atty to my 510 USB Pass-through(The new one, without the inline battery) the vapor production is 100% better then a freshly charged battery. From what I can tell, the battery is only able to produce non dry tasting vapor after I have pulled from it for 2-3 minutes and the atty has warmed up. I went ahead and snagged a 1000mAh battery from another vendor and I will see how that compares.

I have several genuine Joye ego batteries that have no markings on them. I think it's more likely you are having problems with the tank system than the battery. Screw on a regular or LV 510 atty with a drip tip and see how it hits.

Ok, so I just tried a Standard 510-T Atomizer /w Trip tip on my Ego battery and I can barley even get ANY vapor from it at all. Even with a 20 second pull from the device I hardly get ANY vapor. I plug the same 510 atty to my pass-through and the vapor production is great.

Du have a multi meter so you can check the voltage on the Battery? If the voltage is bad, there you go, bad battery. But if the voltage is good, it may be a contact problem. With a small tool like a jewelers screwdriver, gently try to nudge the center post contact of the battery up. After that I've got nothing. Hell, I thought it was the tank stuff. What do I know.

I do have a multimeter at home I can check later. Any idea what voltage/amps this thing should have?
