ego-t roblem...so, this is weird

i've had my ego-t for a couple of moths now and regrettably, have been going back and forth from it to analogues all over one problem: that really harsh burnt taste that attacks my throat and bites my tongue. the original primer, while gross, vapes really smooth. but once it's gone, it's burnt. no amount of blowing out, cleaning, or re-priming does the trick.of course this isn't supposed to happen, BUT THAT'S NOT THE WEIRD PART

i decided i wasn't going to go back and fiddle w/ cartos, so i toughed it out. what's weird is that it'll be burnt for the first 8 to 12 drags and then it'll work just fine. however, if i put it down for even so much as 30min, it'll go straight back to being burnt. Dear Odin's Raven, what is going on? can anyone help me figure this out?

I also had been using an ego-t for about 2 months, and although my first atomizer lasted through 30 ml of JC original, my second and third burnt out in about 10 ml worth of juice with similar symptoms to your own. After 3 attys in less than 2 months, I chalked it up to buggy new technology, and may try again in a few months if the design is improved upon or it becomes priced the same as a 510 atty (presently twice that). In the meantime, 510 cartomizers work great on my ego batteries.

I dont have a definative answer, since I have yet to break one of my tanks out yet.. But I do have a guess. Since the atty is only burnt tasting in the begininng, and then is OK. Could it be a wicking problem? It sounds as if you aren't getting any juice to your atty at first. Then once the atty is wet- voilà! All is better.
If that is the problem. I don't have any solutions, as I haven't even assembled one yet. You night try poking around the Totally Wicked forum. They were one of the first vendors to come out with the tank (just a rebranded joye). Or as the other poster suggested; wait until the design has improved a bit. The newest/latest is always buggy.

*have you tried a mega ego carto yet? I love mine.

I've found oops I messed up again a little burnt taste. Any ways what I was going to say is if when pulling before you stop let go of power button and continue to draw for a small moment just not too long because you may then flood. Hope this helps some. I usually get it right but still sometimes get distracted and mess it up like I just did

There is a thread here somewhere that talks about adjusting the wick in the eGo T- atomizer. Pushing it down or pulling it up and how to do it and how much to do it. Does someone have that link? Your wicking in your atomizer is the first place I would look to solve this problem.

Does your atty fire? Can you hear it sizzle when you hit the battery?

Are your batteries fully charged when you using this system? I've noticed that a weak battery on the eGo T-tank system does not produce well. Maybe my batteries are old or something, but I see to go through battery life faster with this system.

I agree that is sounds like a wicking problem. I straightened a paperclip and pushed my wicking material down just a very very very little bit. That solved my dry hit problem and my T-atomizers have been working great for almost 2 months. I haven't even cleaned them out. They have been performing as well as I can expect them to perform. We need to find that info about adjusting the wick in a eGo T-tank system.

I still do not like the weak flavor these things put out. I am a dripper and only use the eGo Tank system while driving or when dripping is not logical. When not in use, I leave my tank cartridge attached to my atomizer BUT I do remove the battery. I don't want to take a change of one of these things going nuts and dripping a bunch of juice into my switch.

Will keep looking and hopefully, someone around here knows where to find it.

i tried pushing the wick down. and while i'm not convinced it moved at all, my first atty floods like crazy now. so, i'm a lil' paranoid about poking it anymore. i've got one left. i may end up deciding to follow suit, start dripping again w/ a 510 atty and wait for the more refined tank atty to come out. but it had better be soon, cuz i feel like i've been teezed.

I had 3 attys do the same thing within a couple of weeks. If I were you, I would order a pack of regular length clearomizers and a drip tip to stick on the end (just take out the rubber piece on the end) I like them and they come real close in flavor and vapor to dripping, and it doesn't cost much at all to get a pack of 5. The XL clearomizers don't wick as well imo, and have a tendency to slip off the metal end that screws into the battery.

hi ya , the leaking one... you pushed your wick down to far in to the needle, you can use a pin & try to pull it back up ......but it is a lot easier just to use some needle nose pliers & pull the needle plate out & adjust your wick & then just put it back in . there are many many posts that explain how to do this it really is very easy once you do it & see how easy it is to do. I have explained this too many times ...here are some of the relevant postings

Just like Kelley said, I think you have lowered the wick alittle too much, and that would be why it's leaking. I had that problem before, it's so hard to adjust it, can't see nothing in there.

I did a plate removal, and maybe this thread can help you

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...875-ego-t-needle-plate-removal-step-step.html

also incase you might need to replace your wick

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ego-type-models/169520-simplecjs-ego-t-wick-mod.html

You dun need to replace the wick unless when you were trying to pull it out, and it got all loose. If it just look brown and dirty. You can burn it and it becomes white again.
