I'm a noob at vaping and would like help with a couple of things. I purchased a Joye eGo-T 900 mAh (Type B)
1. I'm having an issue with leaking. Are there cartomizers available for this and if so, which vendors have them?
2. cleaning. How often and what is the best method?
3. replacement carts? who has the best deal?
4. are the silicone caps the best method to stop the leaking or are cartomizers the way to go?
I really appreciate any help that you all can give.

I also want to say how much I appreciate this forum. The people here seem to give their honest, tried and true opinions to all of us noobs.:vapor:

Hi and welcome to ECF!

I've heard that pulling up the wick on the T type atomizers can help with the leaking problem. There are probably some other things you can check, but I'm not that familiar with the eGo-T so hopefully someone else will chime in here.

You can use any 510 threaded cartos with these devices. I'm not sure who has the best deal for you since you're in Italy. I buy from IkenVape.com and I know they do international shipping. I think cartos are going to be your best bet. A lot of people have problems with leaking on the T-type atties and eventually ditch them in favor of cartos.

If you suck too hard on the T you may cause some leaking, so be aware of that, and when you fill, after the initial tank opening, use a syringe or something like that to refill, because repeated opening of the tank bottom will cause gaps in it. I have no idea on the silicone caps, but the few leaks I've had are because I wasn't refilling properly (opening the tank every time) and sucking too hard at the start. Hope that helps!

Thanks for your reply! Although I physically live in Italy, I am connected to an American Military community and have access to all items via USPS. USPS delivers to me just like living in the states, on the east coast.

I'm concerned that when I attempt to pull up the wick, I might destroy the atomizer. Thanks for the advice. I think I should probably order some 510 threaded carts, as you suggested. Once they arrive, I'll attempt to adjust the wick.

Any advice on cleaning the atties and the carts?

There are plenty of good tips, I like this post:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ce/201716-ego-t-cart-problem.html#post3564480

I've been using eGo-T type A, B and 510-T atties since January--never had a leak.

Pierce the tank before filling it by inserting it into the atomizer and turn 180 deg. Remove and check for hanging chads. If you find any, remove them gently. Fill the tank and insert it all the way in until it clicks. Some condensation on the surface of the tank is to be expected and does not mean that the tank/atty is leaking.

To keep the atty in great condition, I just vape a tank of unflavored once in awhile until the juice runs clear. This PG or VG flush is the best method, IMO.

I clean with boiling distilled water, vodka and then do a quick dry burn. Do it only when absolutely necessary.

Do not adjust anything untill you're sure you have a true leak. I think most people confuse condensation with leaking and start messing with their wicks making things worse...

Good luck.

I juse the B tanks also and I have not had any leaks from them. I do agree that he syringe is the best way to fill them to avoid any problems. Also the silicone caps work pretty good also. Here are a couple of links to videos. One is for claening the atty the other is for wick adjustment.

Also I did notice that when I was using the A type that if you draw too hard or you are low on liquid, it would leak and also fill the mouth piece with juice. Now that I have switched to the B I have not had any problems.

I use both tank and Boge LR cartomizers. No leaks from the tanks, yet, although plenty of newb messups from overfilling, etc. :)

Quick question - I sometimes boil the atomizers when I clean. Anyone have any thoughts on the tanks themselves, other than hot water? Wonder if boiling would melt them? Perhaps in really hot water? I've got some wintergreen flavor that just won't come out of a couple of tanks.

Now that you have eGo batts, on your next order include THESE; no more leaks or wick adjustments.

I'm heading out to Madvapes and getting some of these. Thanks for promoting them. Using the standard eGo atty and Boge LR cartos. Not dissatisfied with either, but always looking for something that works well. And the carto holds 5ml? Heck yeah!

Now... If I could settle down on some juice flavors...

I have been vaping the same flavor in my tanks for a while so I haven't really worried too much about cleaning them, but I would think that boinling them may be a little extreme. As for the wintergreen flavor in them I think you might be stuck with it. Going to be pretty hard to get that out.

For more info, check out THIS and my REVIEW.

I am also a suuuper newby - I guess you can call me a e-cig virgin . My kit, the eGo-T 1000 is arriving (hopefully) tomorrow - and I want to make sure I have a good experience with it... I am considering ordering a few things, and I see you swear by these! So, these don't need an atomizer? They screw directly onto the battery? How come it is so cheap? Do they work with the 1000 batteries? Also, do you need a syringe to fill them? Can you you use the same syringes for them and the tanks? (Gauge?)
Sorry for the hijack....
Thanks!!
