I have found that the taste and vapor production is better if you remove the end piece of the mouthpiece, remove the center "bar" piece and LEAVE IT OUT. You can put the top piece back on or leave it off too. This can be done easily with a bent paper clip inserted in the little holes.

This procedure allows more vapor to get through the mouthpiece, thus improving vapor AND flavor!

thanks samsmom, I just gave that a try and it seems to be producing more vapor..... think I will boil my attys for a minute or so and see if that cleans the atty....

I have found a good way to help clean the tank attys after reading a post from a Veteran on here. If straight PG doesn't bother you - fill your tank with straight PG and vape it. Vape at least a half tank full and a whole tank is even better.

I have done this and the taste is really not bad at all and it's pretty cool as you will get hints of taste from different flavors you have vaped. This is called the PG bath! It helps to clean the atty.

You'll be surprised how well this cleans your taste buds also!

I did this last week and after I was finished I could taste things SOOO much better! Kinda like cleansing your pallette!

I tried removing it and I get tons of vapor, and a strong TH,but the taste is still not there. It's better, but not where I'd like it. Strange, I can vape the same juice in my clearomizer and it taste great.
Thx for your help.

The only other thing I can suggest is to order extra flavor in your favorite juice if your vendor does this. I use FSUSA and have ordered some 2X flavor in my favs just to use in my tanks and that seems to help with the flavor - just a suggestion!

Happy Vapin' !

The part of Canada that doesn't get enuf Snow :(
I just ordered extra flavor because I wanted to get more. But in the meantime I put som older juice I had from my cart days (short days hated them) I had accidentally left the cap off the juice overnight about two weeks ago wow it's so strong now on the tank I've had to thin it sometimes. I didn't know about steeping until this but it has really brought out the flavor. And I find keeping aty clean good flow makes a huge difference Good luck with it

Hi, Samsmom. I'm glad you like the flavorless. I do the same thing.

I just vape an occasional tank of flavorless (100% PG or 80/20 PG/VG mix with just a little nicotine added) eliquid until the juice in the tank runs clear. That's my maintenance. I got that idea from LGD and it seems to work just fine (PG is a decent solvent). I've been using the same two atties for almost two months and only cleaned them three times. First I boil them for 20 min in distilled water--just pop them, fully submerged, into my microwave. Then I flush them several times with the boiling water, soak them for 15 min in vodka, blow the excess out, let them dry a few hours, and then do several short (4-5 sec) dry burns until the entire coil glows orange. Then another quick rinse with vodka, to get the ashes out, blow out the excess through the battery end, let them dry a bit, and they are ready to go.

I do clean my tanks regularly, of course. I know that luck has a lot to do with it. I got four atties altogether and all four are fine. I know that alot of people have problems or got duds. But if you buy from a reputable vendor, they will replace the defective atties, so my risk is zero, really. The tank cartridges last forever.

I agree that the flavors might seem muted sometimes, but I happen to like subtle flavors, so that doesn't bother me. The juices I use are light-colored, transluscent, barely flavored, usually 80/20 or 70/30 mixtures. I use my tanks on 3.2 as well as on 3.7v. I think I prefer the 3.7, but the LR atties are very nice on 3.2v.

Yeah - I got the idea from LGD too! I just got some LR tank attys and like them at 3.2 also. I have never (knock on wood) lost an atty and I just got an ultrasonic cleaner for mine today and gave them a whirl - anxious to see if it makes a difference. They are drying now.

Yes samsmom, please let us know how the ultrasonic cleaner workes out for you.
I have noticed that sometimes the vapor production drops off dramatically with my tanks and I thought that they might be dying. Turns out that I will pull out the tank and replace it with the dummy tank that comes with the atty. I will then vape it that way till the vapor increases and then to a point till I just get a hint of a burnt flavor then pop the tank back in. Pull a primer puff and then all is like new. Some of the juices seem to drop into the atty more that others and they just get a little flooded. I want to start cleaning them more and I really appreciate the helpful info here for that.

The ultrasonic cleaner seemed to work OK. There was some black specs in the bottom of the container so I assume they came out of the atty!! I used cheap vodka in the bath and let it run for about 20 minutes. Dried them off on the outside and set them up to dry for a few hours. Did a quick dry burn and it's vaping very well.
The real test will be using some dark thick juice, as I use mostly clear or light-colored and 70PG/30PG.
