Why do I get a really bad burnt taste from the ego tank? I have heard many great things about it, but I my self am having no luck with the device :(

I've not experienced a burnt taste, but occasionally a dry wicking taste (which may or may not be what you're describing).

I've learned two things from videos that can prevent this:

1. Don't fill the tank/cart all the way, just maybe 3/4s. A little air allows it to flow, if it's totally full it doesn't work as well. Think like the old Juicy Juice cans. When you popped one hole in the sealed can, it didn't flow because there was no air flow. A second hole allowed air in and juice to flow out. Once the can was partially emptied, you could cover the 2nd hole and it'd still pour.

2. Take "primer puffs." If you're starting to get a dry taste, drag on it as though you were inhaling/vaping, but without hitting the button. Sucking on it that way forces airflow and pushes the juice down, rewetting the atty. Do this maybe 4-5 times with short puffs and it should be wicked again in a matter of seconds.

If you're actually getting a burnt taste, and not a dry wick, I'm not sure what could be causing it, but it could be a bad atty, or the juice you're using is too thick (thick VG won't wick very well as opposed to a thinner juice).

EDIT - also, did you blow out the primer fluid before using it the first time? That primer fluid is nasty, and could be what you're tasting if you didn't clean it out.
