Ego Twist and Vision Ego Clearomizer problem?

I started vaping by accident at the maximum volts, 4.8
It had a horrible taste. It may be the primer crap they put in there or something else.
I cleaned it out and everything, tried turning the voltage down to 3.2 and its okay again, I can still taste it a bit though under the juice flavour. Turned it up again just then, to test if it was gone and it came back again full blast.

It's seriously disgusting. I'm getting sick of this, happened with my first cartomisers too, that came with the 510.
I feel like I'm probably damaging my body more than I was with normal cigarettes breathing in all this unknown crap.

Might need to replace them, if it's the wick that's burnt, that taste isn't going away. Same with cartos...

Sounds as though you might be burning the wick. Take breaks between every few puffs. Also, you could get higher resistance clearomizers if you plan on going above 4.2 or it'll get that flavor pretty quick. 4.2 seems to be the sweet spot for the 2.1-2.4 ohm clearomizers and my VG juices. YMMV

Yup, 4.8V was just to much and you burnt it. Higher isn't necessarily better and you need to balance voltage with resistance.

Also, many juices don't like higher voltage, especially fruits...

Personally I think clearos are junk and I'll only use attys or cartos. I bought one of the 1000 mah ego twist' and this thing is the bomb. I wish they had em a year ago i'd have a dozen by now. Anywho, If you zap a low res carto or atty with too much voltage that taste will be with you a long time. I'm using a 2.5 ohm 510 (Joye) atty on mine with the voltage cranked and it hits and tastes great. This could replace my Provari, Silver bullet, and 3 GLV's as a goto device. Understand that these won't last long because the battery is not replaceable. I only paid $25.00 but what the hay I'll spend that much in 3 days on analogs for the wife.

Oh I forgot to mention that I got one of those long SS drip tips from Super T Mfg and this rig is like a foot long! Seven inches actually. It looks like some sort a wand or sumpthin' but it vapes like a $100.00 mod.

Haha, even with regular driptip I'm surprised how long it is. Probably wouldn't take this out in public. Pretty much cigar sized.

I've had this issue with the Vision Ego /w the ego twist. You can't use any voltage past 3.4 if you want it to taste good. Any higher than that and you'll burn it out forever. The visions really are better on regular ego's in my opinion. They don't benefit from variable voltage as a standard cartomizer.

with anything used on a VV device I would say always start off at the lowest voltage and work up to the sweet spot or you could end up burning wicks on everything.

You cannot go above 3.2 on these ego clearos unless you want a burnt taste!

if you are vaping at 4.8 volts then you would need to have a 3.2ohm coilhead minimum 2.8ohm, otherwise it is going to taste like ****

i make my own coils and just under 4V is my sweet spot.
