If I leave my ego twist in the on position is there any draw in other words will my battery not last as long?

I never have turned mine off, so can't answer. Just never put them in a position to be accidentally fired, so never bothered.

Five quick clicks of the fire button will turn it off. Five more will turn it on again. The fire button flashes 3 times to signal that the battery has been turned off or on.

We completely strayed from the OP. No. I always leave mine on when in not in use while it is just standing/laying on my desk and notice the battery duration is still the same when I use it.

I only turn mine off when it goes in my purse to prevent auto-firing during jostling. My twists work great.
