Greets,

Picked up my first 2 eGo Twist 1000mah batteries today for a new setup. I wanted to know if there are any tips or tricks to extending battery life? I for sure thought I read a comment or two about charging them fully, use for 1-2 hours, then placing back on the charger which will greatly condition and extend their life.

I cannot unfortunately recall where I read this or if in fact they were eGo Twist's (I've been doing A LOT of reading/research lately) so I wanted to ask here.

Any recommendations or links to suggestions?

Thanks!

danimal40,

I've been searching and re-searching and the consensus is pretty much how you've described in that it's best not to let them fully discharge since they get into a sleep state and then have to be boosted to get a charge ever again. I think I'll continue with how I, and you, have been using them :)

Thanks for the confirmation!

Here is a good read for you - How to Prolong Lithium-based Batteries - Battery University

One piece of advice that I was given many moons ago was to allow the battery to cool down and rest after charging. Basically, don't use the battery straight off the charger and you will have happier batteries. :)

Awesome and thank you for that link SB.. good reading and good advice.. Now that you mention it I believe I've also heard that tip of letting them rest after a charge.. Good stuff! :)
