Type A or B doesn't refer to the eGo itself, it is the Mega Atomizers that come in two styles. The Type A are cone shaped and Type B are barrel shaped. They both use a Mega cartridge that is much larger than a regular 510 cartridge. I use the Type B on my 900mah eGo's. Think "smokestack"!
You can use LR 510 attys (or any 510 atty) on the eGo's. I use LR 510's on my 650mah eGo's. Work fantastic.

Hope this helps.

Despite what people may tell you...
Yes you can use a LR atty, BUT be aware that the EGO still uses a mosfet circuitry which is only designed to handle an average of a 1 amp current draw and a LR atty will draw close to 2 amps which WILL stress your battery and lead to premature failure. LR attys are made for 3.7v big battery mods to simulate a 5v vaping experience.

Now we are cooking with fire! I ordered an Ego kit and a couple of LR atty's. Should I avoid the use of these? I would gladly order the 1000 mAh batt if that would be more compatible?

I guess I should just slow down and wait till the product arrives, eh?

LR atty's need a true 3.7v battery. eGo's only put out 3.4v or something like that. I've used LR atty's on mine without problems so far but generally I only use standard atty's. I haven't lost a battery yet but I tend to not want to risk it. I run LR's on my Icon but it's a true 3.7v device as well as my GGTB with a 3.7v battery in it.

Question is...do YOU want to chance ruining your eGo? This is totally up to you. We can only tell you what has happened to other people as well as ourselves. You have to make the decision.

I'm just saying LR atty will shorten the life of an EGO battery.
Not 100% but I don't think the higher mAh(900-1000) battery will help any because it is still using a mosfet circuitry and that is not designed for that kind of amperage draw.

Thanks for the run down. So to your knowledge, is there any commonly available cigarette style PV that can use a LR510, for which I believe the requirements are true 3.7V output and a battery capacity of 450 mAh or greater, or is this mod only territory?

I'd tend to disagree with the 3.7 volt assessment. What matters here is mAh not volts. If you believe a 680mAh battery isn't enough for you, Joyetech makes 900 and 1000 mAh batteries.

I've used LR atties on stock eGo bats on and off for about 6 months. I've only lost one eGo battery out of 6.
