I absolutely love these clearomizers if they would perfect the manufacturing process. They produce excellent vapor and flavor with such a little draw that it mimicks the smoking habit for me perfectly. When I first got my first one, I thought I had found the perfect things to use from here on out. But, I can't continue to pay for something that only lasts on average 3 days for me. The first one I had lasted 5 days before the metal piece around the neck broke off. I thought, well maybe I'll be more careful with the next ones I get. I received two more. Less than 24 hours later, the neck broke off of that one and I was holding the metal piece when taking the mouthpiece off everytime. I got my superglue and reinforced the second one thinking that will help. I used that one also less than 24 hours and I started to notice cracks around the bottom. Of course! I put a little fingernail polish on it, filled it and started to vape and bubbles started coming in the side. I looked down and there was a horseshoe shaped crack going around the side. My daughter grabbed some electrical tape and it's working, but this is not a well-made item.

I know I'll continue to try a few more, because I just love how well they work for me and hoping that I'll get some good ones. I don't know, but it seems to me they should reinforce the stess points on these.

In the picture, you can see the glue around the neck and one side of the crack under the tape and this is only 1 1/2 days old. Isn't it cute? :p

EDIT: I'm editing my initial post to say that more than likely it is the juices I'm using in this clearomizer that is causing this. The many wonderful people here have helped me to have this epiphany and I thank them so much!

Wow, this is weird! We have been using them for a few weeks now, currently have about 7 active with juice with no trouble. My wife said that her TV Tasty Finger one is giving here a few burnt hit, but she seems to think it's gunking up a bit inside the wick area. That is our oldest one in use, and it's been filled probably 15 times already.

We have some from Altsmoke and Vapor Kings I believe.

Do you think that there are different manufacturers of these? The first one I got from GotVapes and the last two came from LiteCigUSA.

I saw in some thread where someone mentioned that they didn't look the same on the inside so I'm wondering if there is a better one out there.

@Smokin'Sandy, I'm with you that I LOVE these things, but I HAVE found that some liquids will tend to melt the plastic. My favorite 'cola' flavors will cause that metal ring area to twist right off on the next refill (approx. 24 hours later). I've also heard that my next favorite flavors (cinnamon) will do the same. As a result, since I've been avoiding those juices in my Stardusts, I've had no more problems.

I'm currently using TWO SD's since February 21, and they continue to work beautfully with NO efforts at 'dry burning'. Also using the Stone tank (Version 2) on my Lavatube, and have no problem using 'cola' or 'cinnamon' flavors in it.

What flavor juice are you using when your SD's fall apart???

I know there are different versions of this. I did see where Madvapes has them 4 for $8.00 and are out of stock. I'm having a hard time believing that folks would sell these for $2.00 and be the genuine original. I'm too new to know on this, but it's making me concerned about ordering the Madvape ones when they come back. My active ones from Altsmoke are performing awesome.

My TV Cherry just destroyed a Smoktech DC clear tank (3.5). Ate right into the black base and top, putting black rubbery residue in the juice. I'm assuming it was the juice that did this.

...black rubbery residue in the juice...
Yeck!! Doesn't sound very tasty...unless you like licking tires.

So far the only tanks I've tried are the Stone tanks from Gotvapes.com (both Versions 1 and 2). I really like them.

I never tried Cherry flavor (yet). Is it like a marachino cherry, or a Lifesaver cherry??

The first one was caramel apple the entire time. The next one was snickerdoodle (which has some cinnamon) and cola. The next one was chocolate mint and banana/cupcake/marshmellow. No that's not right...I never got to try the snickerdoodle in this because I gave it away before I got the Vision (second order). Cinnamon kills me. I know I had cola and the other was pina colada.

It seems to me that these are made of glass though because of the shards that splintered off when the first neck broke. Are they plastic?

I put myself on the waiting list for Madvapes because of that price, but I'm reconsidering buying them now. They have a great price on juice though too!

To me it has a chemical taste, even after weeks of steeping. Actually, it's TVR Cherry not TV. Don't get my wrong, it's Cherry, and tastes good, but there's an underlying taste there that doesn't sit right....can't put my finger on it. Best way I can compare the taste is to say Cherry Koolaid.

You know I didn't think of something, but how are you grabbing them to put on/take off? My initial instinct is to grab by the plastic, as it's is the majority of the unit, however I thought that by doing so it could bind things a bit possibly loosening or cracking it. I make sure to only use the base to tighten it down.

On my second one (I tried to glue the neck back on), I noticed the back mouthpiece falling apart too. It was real soft and mushy around the bottom. I'm thinking it was the fumes from the superglue though, but maybe not. It only did that after I glued it though.

Yeah, the first one (that lasted the longest...go figure) I was grabbing by the middle. Then the neck broke so I thought I would grab it by the metal base (around the mouthpiece) to take the mouthpiece off and on to prevent that. It didn't work. It broke quicker. I do hold the metal at the bottom when I take the whole thing on and off though. That large crack just appeared out of nowhere, but I did just finish washing it out. Could it be the hot water? I know glass will do that and I'm thinking these are glass, but I could be wrong.

Yes; plastic. As many times as I've dropped these things, glass would have been bad news4me.

OTOH...tiz a shame I can't use'em for my favorite flavors. :(

I bet 'somebody' will fix that 'melting' problem before long. :)
Oh okay. It was just weird they way it splintered like glass when the first neck broke. I guess it wouldn't make to much sense to make them glass huh? :)

I tried them (from AltSmoke) and liked the LR version a lot, but it leaked. When I looked more closely, I found small cracks around the base of the tank where it mounts to the base. This wasn't with a juice that should have been acidic (EC Blend's RY4). I'm going to try another one and see - hope it works out, because I love the flavor, easy refill and visibility.

I just wached this video

I wonder if the sour and tart...omg...I bet it would because I bet it's made with citric acid. That's probably why the first one I had lasted longer. I used caramel apple most of the time. I bet I tried to switch up to something fruity and tart when it broke. Okay. So I just avoid the tart and cinnamon (and colas!!) when using these.

My last two have clouded also. And this video explains why I thought they were made of glass also. I know nothing about chemical reactions obviously!! HA!

Thanks so much everyone!!

Now that I've had time to think, I have used these juices:

Cola
Pina Colada
Peach
Pineapple
Pear
Key Lime
Watermelon
Sweet tart
Spearmint
Ripe banana/marshmellow/cupcake some with some almond
Mint chocolate chip

I wonder if the flavoring ripe banana has any kind of acid. Just trying to figure out why the thrid one cracked like it did. I only used the last two flavors. Maybe it's the mint or maybe it's the stevia I'm using in some mixes to judge which I like better, stevia or sucralose. The stevia is made with "natural extracts from herb and berries". I think I'll stick with the pure sucralose powder and mix it myself.

This is a learning experience for sure. :)
