Ok, hope this is in the right thread.
I am ready to try something different. Only experience I have is with a Kr8 and it just isn't working for me.
I have read a lot about the eGo and I have read a Little about the vGo.
Personally, I like the "look" of the vGo, so I was wondering , what's the difference.
Here's where I'm at:
eGo

vGo

Also, if I decide on the vGo, do I have to buy these
or can I purchase any atomizers? The website that's selling the vGo doesn't list any "special" atomozers for it, so that's kinda why I am confused as to whether or not they have their own.

If any of this sounds confusing ,I'm sorry. I'm confused!

I'm not familiar with that vendor and their version of the vGo, but it does say it uses 510 atomizers. The cone is apparently strictly decorative, just like on the eGo. You can't use your KR808 cartomizers directly on this, but I believe there is an adapter that will allow you do that. The way it reads, though, any 510 will fit on it. And that vGo does have pretty good battery size. I think the standard eGo is only 650. Not that you aren't confused enough, but you might also want to look at the Riva. The battery life is only 750, better than the eGo but less than this vGo, but it looks pretty much identical to these and runs a bit less than either of those. Vapor Junction has it right now for $49.99 with 10% with ECF10 coupon code. I've got both an eGo and a Riva; I think I like the Riva a little bit better just on battery longevity and the feel of the button.

I know...not much help.

Honestly just looks like their version of the bigger battery eGo. Might be worthwhile to email them and ask who the manufacturer is. That might give you a better idea on the quality since like SimpleSins I'm not familiar with the vendor or unit directly. It is quite common and easy for a vendor to get branding on large enough orders so could be an eGo in a different wrapper or could be a knock off produced by another manufacturer. Hard to tell unless you ask the vendor.

Good luck. If you get one and it is the greatest thing on the planet you can post a review and let all the loyal eGo users that you've found a winner. Although as with everything always remember YMMV and focus on what keeps you happily vaping away into the sunset.

EDIT

FYI be sure you ask if and how much the replacement batteries will be. Only offer the T-rex 750 mAh battery on web page for $22 each. Not sure if that's a good price, but I do think their apparently regular 510 batteries are a tad overpriced at $12.

Look like the same device. Perhaps the vgo is just their name for the ego. The ego does allow use of the 900mAh "mega" batts, so that's not an issue and really, I use 650mAh batts on my ego and have for 3 months, no issues. Two batteries get me thru a day, steady vaping.

I don't know those sites, might be fine, but the price you saw on the ego is about right these days. The vgo might be ok since it has the bigger batt, but I think it is overpriced. I am not affiliated at all with, but do trust these sites:

e-Smokey Treats

AltSmoke.com

Totally Wicked

... for equipment. On e-Smokey it is called the eGo, on AltSmoke it is the Riva, and on TW, it is the Tornado. Same device. All good sites.

Again, I am not affiliated with those sites but ... I love e-Smokey best, they have been GREAT on service and I love their juice. Indeed, they have a code on right now, 30% off 30ml juice .... use "eliquid30" at checkout. Makes it like $12 and change for 30ml. Pretty good. Fewer flavors, but plenty for me. Anyway ...

Hope this helps,
iWill

The Riva and the eGo are slightly different; I can't speak to the Tornado. The basic eGo is 650 mAh battery, the basic Riva 750. And the button is better in the sense that it is more solid on the Riva than the eGo, which feels a little loose. So they are slightly different and not considered the same device. I think the eGo and Tornado may be branded products from Joye, but the Riva is not.

Ok ... but since YMMV, as I just saw ... heh ... I have two eGo kits, a Tornado, and two Riva kits in my stash, use them all on and off, exchange all the parts around, and the difference must be subtle, cause I didn't notice a difference. LOL

I do like the button on the Riva, but ... better? I don't know, just different. :)

It's ALL good, to the original post and you won't go wrong with these.

Thanks for all your responses. I got tired and went to bed!
I have sent them off an email, as you have suggested to inquire about the manufacturer. Will have to wait for a response.
I guess the battery isn't really the "one thing" that has sold me on the vGo. It is the "look".
yes, it looks almost identical to the eGo, except it comes in the pretty colors and it has a "diamond" button that glows when pressed. (I like the red one :))
Not sure how I found that website. I have been doing A LOT of reading here, and came across it somehow. I liked the price because everywhere else that is selling the vGo is asking 65 and upwards. Maybe the piece of mind is worth the couple extra dollars since no one has heard of them.

I have read about an LR Atty and everyone LOVES them. Is that something I would want/would work on this? Also, any idea where one might find the adapter for the Kr8 cartomizers? Also, with this new unit, I was considering the drip method. Does that apply to this type of device?
I know, I know...to many questions. Maybe I should have posted this in the newB section!

Hey, hope it works but just wanted to point out I had the "overpriced" backwards. It's the eGo at $69 that seems so. And that site, Nhaler, never heard of it. But, love to know what you find about the VGO and how you like it once you have it.

Thanks!
Nhaler is a pretty reputable supplier. They have been around awhile. They are among the approved suppliers right here on this forum! :)
It's the BreezEsmokes people that no-one seems to have heard of. That's what kind of makes me "uneasy" about ordering from them. I hate being the guinea pig!

The LR atomizers are pretty nice (I use the LR cartomizers, though). They would work good on something like this. They are not quite as good on a smaller battery; the LR atties will use up a battery quicker (and also juice). This will also be good for dripping; I'm not a dripper myself, but they say it's pretty good. As as matter of fact, people who like dripping enjoy using a 306 atomizer (available in standard and LR) on a 510 with no adapter needed and say it is fantastic; something about the design and higher bridge makes it ideal. As to the adapters, I believe these are the ones you want:

510 to 901/808-D Adapter

Good luck with whatever way you go. I know the info and choices get overwhelming sometimes!

Well, here is the response I got to my email inquiry;
It is the same e-cig as the eGo, T-rex, Riva, Maxx...They are just different battery sizes. I buy from a distributor, but I think the Hello group makes them all. We only provide a 7 day warranty, but they are tested before they leave here. We work on a case by case basis with warranty. It either works or it doesn't. Hope this helps. I have had 2 of them for about a month and love them.
7 DAYS!!!!!
7????
Guess I will probably end up paying the little extra for a better warranty.
As far as the rest goes, well, unless someone here knows otherwise, I will have to take him at his word. I don't know anything about all the others he listed , nor do I know anything about the Hello group.
Anyone care to comment on that?....Please???!!!

Thhe Hello group is the company that makes the Riva and the Hello-16 - which is a well thought of 1350mah battery of the ego class.

Good Prophets has an eGo maniac starter kit that comes with the usual stuff, plus a KR8 carto and a KR8 adapter, which makes it easy to use your existing cartos with the eGo. I ready that you're really interested in the vGo, but thought you might be interested in the kit. It's what I got as my first kit, and I absolutely love it. The total kit is $84.99, I think...but I'm sure that he probably sells the adapter separately if you're looking for one. GP's customer service can't be beat, IMHO.

Good luck finding something that you really like! :)

I just want to point out a couple of things.

One is that some posters are saying only deal with the reputable vendors that are on this forum implying that they all have guarantees. Do be aware that not all vendors on this forum offer good warranty. In fact the last ego I bought was from a reputable vendor on this forum that offered no warranty on any of his products - not even a week. Be sure to check out all vendors guarantee on this forum or off.

Second is that you said one of the reasons you were wanting a vgo was that you wanted a red one. Good Prophets (which does have a good guarantee) does carry red (and blue and green) ego's just not in kits. If I really wanted a red, and a guarantee I would put just put together my own ego kit from parts from him.

Also I know Totally Wicked has a red tornado (which is the same as an ego) kit and a 28 day guarantee

Now, I am the type that tends to take risk - if I really wanted the vgo - I would go for it.

When you say LR cartomizers, are you referring to the Kr8 cartomizers? If so, I didn't even know they had low resistance ones!...lol.
Where can I get those?
And just so I am clear.
I get the 510-808 adapter and I can use my V4L cartomizers?
I get a drip tip and a LR atty and I am good to go with whatever came in my kit to go ahead and try the dripping method? In fact, I may want to throw in a 306 LR atty and use my drip tip with that, or I don't need a drip tip? Or would I need a different type of drip tip for the 306?
If I don't like the dripping method, then I just need cartridges instead of cartomizers (which, some come with the kit that I can clean out and refill with my favorite juice)?
Do I got everything? Because I really think I am about sold on something, but I want to make sure I have it all clear first!!! ;-)

And by the way, thanks to everyone for posting. This has been very helpful in my search and decision. :toast:

Almost sounds like a Metallica song.......lol
