I ordered the above kit from China. This is the type with a screw-on pen clip mouthpiece cover, two long windows to see juice level and a refill bottle with blunt needle. The outer metal protector (the sleeve with the windows) is not removable like CE2's and completely sealed on to the plastic cartomizer.

This has disappointed me because I cannot do any maintenance cleaning or dry burns. They work OK and no leaks, but performance is already tailing off a bit after one week. The silicon seal over the coil is impossible to remove. So it seems that these are 'disposable', just throw away and use a new one. I've always liked to maintain my e-cigs and find it frustrating that I am 'locked out'.

The mouthpiece on this model is so loose it keeps coming out and is easily lost. I have solve this problem by modifying old Ego-T mouthpieces by cutting them short, removing the centre core with a red hot needle then careful filing and sandpapering the end. This now gives a nice tight fit and I can still use the pen clip.

The silicone cap is very very soft, but I have a tool that pulls it out without ripping it. You have to insert a hook down to the ceramic bowl, push the hook through the slit in the ceramic bowl and lift up, taking the silicone up without tearing it.

The other way to remove it is to carefully remove the cylinder from the battery connector by GENTLE rocking. You can then pull the metal stem and the ceramic cup out of the tube, just leaving behind the tube with silicone seal still in place. You then remove the seal by poking it out with a thin finger or a pencil from the "battery" end.

Be very very very careful. Those tubes crack as soon as you look at them. If you need more information, let me know and I will send you pictures.

Hello Chuff and thank you for your reply.

I'm an 'inventive' type of guy and always done my own mods and re-wicking of my Ego-T. But before getting this Ego-W I did research, saw photos and YouTube videos, so I really do know the anatomy of the Ego-W and saw the vid where 'rocking' removed the tube, silicon cap removal, cleaning and dry burns. Believe me I cannot do it with this F1 CE3 version.

My 'newer' (CE3) version looks just the same as the Ego W's seen in the videos, but the window cylinder is 'welded for life' to the battery connector and cannot be removed. I've confirmed this with my China supplier who said this is an improved version that eliminates leaking problems. The silicon cap is literally somehow 'welded' to the walls and cannot be removed (and I have the tools that should do it). My tool literally stretched the silicon cap right outside the tube but it still did not move a jot from its place in the tube. The cap kept its original position.

The supplier said that if I want the older CE2 version that can be dismantled on my next order they can get it for me. But they urged me to give the new Ego-W a good trial.

I'm suffering with the new "E-Liq" carts I have just bought too, same thing, perhaps. The question to ask the supplier is:

"Is the tube acrylic or polystyrene". If they do not know, ask them if it's totally clear or cloudy.

If its acrylic, or totally clear, then I'd personally avoid them.

Thanks for photos Chuffin'. So now you have your new ones you know what I talk about. To be fair, the new ones are strong, won't leak or crack. We should give them a good trial. My modified Ego-T whistle tip fits tight and never falls off like that silly little rubber one supplied with the W.

For cleaning this new type of (unopenable) cart, I have a little pot of Vodka that I keep using over again (till it looks dirty). I fill the empty cart in the usual way with vodka then blow it all out again from the battery end. I then flush a full syringe of vodka quickly through the hole in the battery end. This flushes straight through the coil. Hope this helps with this new type cart.

Hi Chuffin,
Sorry about delay, been away. I really am not into photos but hope I can help. The sealed atty's for the Ego-W fall off in peformance very quickly, and apart from flushing with syringe not much you can do about it.

But I have contacted my Chinese supplier who is sending me the type with removable sleeve and end-cap which will allow complete cleaning and dry burning. I read that this type has been associated with leaking but with careful use I'm sure this will not be a problem.

My supplier has the old style W atty's at $3.6 each. You can't expect them to send just one, so I ordered 10 which should last me a two or three years I hope. I also ordered two extra 1100mh batteries at the same time. The whole lot added up to $60.10 which includes shipping and Paypal fee. In sterling this came to £39.32 which is very cheap in comparison to elsewhere.

The supplier is SunOcean. They have a page on ...........com. But I now email direct at oceanheart1988@hotmail.com. They answer emails and act on them very promptly. They tell you when they are sent and give a tracking number. I've used them for some time now and they are reliable. But being China it can take 2-3 weeks to reach you.

I think I have the same thing. I got it from Timeeast, and I believe they are billing it as the ego-w f1

The sleeve is not removable from the clearomizer inside. It hits really well, good capacity, great flavor, and warm vapor.

For cleaning, I have found that screwing on the pen-cap style mouthpiece cover and then applying slight lateral pressure will pop off the metal top of the sleeve. Then I can easily remove the plastic cap on the clearomizer itself. By taking a syringe and some vodka, inseted into the bottom tube of the clearomizer, I can flush the tube and wash the atomizer itself. Some GENTLE scraping of the atomizer also helps to remove built up crud, and the thing hits pretty well again for the next week or so.

I did ruin one atomizer, however, by turning the tube inside the clearomizer. This put stress on the solder point for the negative lead going to the outside of the clearomizer, and the solder point broke, so be careful.

Overall though, I really like this atomizer. much better than the ego-t.

I know it has been a while since you posted in here, but I am having trouble with my F1. It worked great for about 4 hours when I first got it yesterday and then it started gurgling and the juice started leaking into the battery from the bottom. The middle is now completely filled with liquid. Have tried blowing it out, but the liquid comes back again in the middle. The walls of the one I have are clear and it came with my EGO-W kit. Have I done something wrong like hit on it too much and cracked something inside? Nothing is leaking from the outside or looks cracked externally. Am new at these and am not sure what I am doing. :-(
Help! I have one more in the kit, but I don't want to use and destroy it if I have done something wrong to this one. It is still actually functioning, but juice is everywhere.
