I'm looking for just a battery tube with eGo & 510 connections - and it can be charged with a regular eGo (or microUSB) charger. It appears that joyetech used to make something like this but everyone that has these are discontinued.

What happened to those? Anybody still make anything similar? I'm just wanting a basic 18650 battery and control head, no VV/VW stuff... trying to keep it as short as possible.

TIA!

That used to be the Joyetech eGo-T 2 APV. It has been replaced with the eVic Easy head. It has better eVic version PWM, remaining battery power level indication, and still operates in both regulated and unregulated modes.

It fits either the original eGo-T 2 battery tubes or the eVic 18650 battery tubes. If you want something insanely tiny - like only 3.25 inches long - there is even an 18350 battery tube that fits.

Flat top design only with eGo threads. The up-side is the eGo well area in big enough that it even fits the larger than normal Kanger T3s/MT3s base in there - no extender or adapter required.

The design has been changed and no longer uses an eGo charger. It now uses a micro USB cable for charging instead, plugged into any 500 mA minimum USB power supply. The up-side is this allows it to be used as a passthrough while charging. The head does not come with a cable, but if you have any cell phone charger with a micro USB cable you should be good to go.

Example here: Joye Tech Easy Head eVic MOD BUTTON Unit - New Style GoodProphets also has the 18350 battery tubes that fit.

Wow, that kind of blows the budget...

I liked the eGo style because if the switch goes bad, it can be replaced, cheaply, from what I understand.

If the switch on a Provari goes bad, they'll fix it for you free. The first year, that is. After that they may - or may not - charge you a few bucks for the job.

But it is a lot more expensive than an Ego, that's for sure.

Did you read the OP's post? They specifically said they wanted a 510/Ego connector on their mod.

The Provari does not have an ego connector, so to use a Provari with anything ego (like most clearos) you would have to use a 510 to ego adapter. Which is a pain.

"510/Ego" can mean "510 and ego". It can also be interpreted as "510 or ego".

I don't find using an adapter a pain, but we're all different.

From reading reviews on the Easy Head, it doesn't look great. Unregulated voltage coming from the regulated voltage mode, bad quality switches, USB ports becoming un-soldered...

I suppose charging with the eGo charger isn't a big deal if it can be charged via micro-USB and not mini-USB...

Also edited the OP to be clear that I want a 510 & eGo connection.

Yeah I seem to recall a run of bad reports about the heads but I think that was a while ago. I have two of them and haven't had any problems with mine. Also have the right meter to check and at least mine are running in the respective unregulated and regulated modes.

It's definitely micro USB. For travel I really like this because all I need is the Easy Head setup and a micro USB cable. As long as there is a USB power source any place I can charge.

It is both eGo/510. It's flat top so something like a ProTank with a 510 connector sits flush, and the eGo threading is recessed into the well.

For what it's worth the info in the Joyetech box says they have a 90 day warranty.

asks for ego, gets pushed on provari...

Well, he was asking about a specific 'eGo mod' - the T2 18650 - so it isn't that big of a stretch.... except in price of course :)

The T2 is a good starting point for people that want to go beyond the regular eGos. You can get the tubes (18350 and 18650) rather cheaply, batts, and go with the easy or 'updated' head (when available) and 'upgrade' to the eVic head, if you eventually want to go VV/VW. Perfectly 'upgradeable' without buying a bunch of intermediate stuff you'll never use.

I'm kind of interested in this. Can you post pictures of yours?

Thanks

Here's a post I made in the vets forum a while back that explains it pretty good and some pictures :)

On mods.... I kinda like the eGo T2 mod idea:

Start out cheap... $25 plus batt...

The flat head unit - $15.95

flatheadegotcontrolhead.png

18350 tube - $8.95

later add an 18650 case - $8.95

... but if you want to go all the way - evic head - @$75-80

.. which goes with both tubes and batts you already have ;)

Fits the T3 or Protank

Like to see it with the 18350 tube ;)
