Hi :)

I'm new here.. in case it wasn't obvious. :) I'm another Texan (though originally from Pennsylvania).

I've been smoking off and on for about 12 years, usually more of a social thing and when I get stressed out. So I was never a heavy smoker. Lately though, I've been wanting to pick it back up. I did some research to see how eCigs were, I look them up every year or so, and saw that lots of people were actually enjoying them. So, I figured rather than start back up with analogs, I'd join in on the vaping action.

Tomorrow I get a starter kit from V2Cigs, which I had read was a good newb kit.. Though I'm already starting to plan out a new rig based on an eGo. So many toys :D I look forward to collecting a bunch. :)

So.. enough about me.. What about you?

What I must say I find strange, is the conscious decision to become a smoker again, if not simply addicted to nicotine like most of the rest of us are. To actively choose that. Weird.

I'll never understand it either but then again... we all made that choice at one time.

    Welcome aboard!

I once worked with a colleague many years ago, who told me her brother had quit for 15 years. During that time the feeling never went away, of a nicotine craving. He relapsed, and died of lung cancer. I don't know the ins and outs so I can't relay them, but it is a powerful drug and for someone to actively choose to smoke, after quitting, it's their funeral. vaping is the saviour of many helpless nicotine addicts, myself included.

Which, as it happens for anyone who reads this, was the inventor's intention.

I can kind of understand. I quit analogs for about 3 years. Then I thought I'd have just one in a particularly stressful time. That was about three and a half years ago. Since then, off and on, I've been smoking. Lately, like 7-8 a day.

Imagine if I'd instead chosen to take up vaping. When the urge strikes, if it can be routed to a much better place, why not?

Hello, nirosys, and welcome to the ECF community. Congrats to you for making an excellent decision.

I am an ex-smoker, whom had smoked for some 30 years.

Vaping has replaced my dependency for the analogs. I am making a conscious effort to lower my nicotine intake by dropping the nic level in my juices over a period of time.
