An authentic vtc5 from a known reputable vendor / dealer or one of the dozens of counterfeit vtc5's?
Are you chain vaping? (I sometimes do, and it can warm things up a bit).
Can you turn it off, set it aside for half an hour & see if it works after that?

If you're actually using an authentic cell at 13w / 1.2Ω I'd return the ehpro, seems to me it is malfunctioning / defective.
