What I like to do is use an 18g syringe or paperclip or toothpick or drill bit, etc. I put it through the middle of the eko. Then I wrap the coil tight around the eko. Then I install the coil and finally pull the pin or whatever out of the ekowool. This leaves a hollow spot where juice can hang out ready to be vaporized! I like drill bits because I can get the hollow spot just the right size, yep, you will have to experiment a little but when you get it right, it's like the rest of the good stuff... worth the effort!:2c:

Please invest on a multimeter.. Never fire anything without checking for shorts..

I concur--it never ceases to amaze me how many people start building coils and fire them without testing them first (not trying to single you out on this spazzixi, it's just a general observation). Make this the next thing you direct vape budget towards. Multimeters aren't expensive. Even though it obviously is, don't think of it as an optional part of your rebuilding kit.

Moving on...

Looking at the picture, I'm inclined to say that your coils are too tight--it looks to me like the wicks are being choked. I'd go with dub151's suggestion about using something to fill out the ekowool as you wrap your coil around it--I do the same thing and find that it helps out a lot.

Honestly, with 3mm ekowool, I think you'd be fine without doubling it over. The needle/drill bit trick will be easier to pull off with just one strand too. I use a single strand of the 2mm in my drippers and haven't had any issues with wicking.

Hope this helps, keep us posted. And get that multimeter ;)

Good luck!

Yep that was the problem I was wrapping to tight. I but a small screw driver inside an then I wrapped my coil. Working great now I'm getting at a .45 ohm and blowing clouds. And don't work I did the tag and my battery and handle the ohms :)

Rockin :) Glad to hear you got things up and running. Happy vaping!
