I've had the ijust2 for about two weeks, I believe I ruined the coil by improperly cleaning it. It comes with a .3 coil but tonight I went to by new coils and I purchased .5 coils. Now it's not hitting the same and the device is getting hotter than it previously had. I'm brand new to ecigs and have no idea what I'm doing or what's going on. Can someone help me?

I rinsed it with hot water when I was changing flavors and put it back in the mod. I turned it on and pressed the button, without hitting it, attempting to vaporize the water that was still in it and that's when a burnt taste occurred. That's why I went to get new coils, but now it's not performing like it was, in multiple facets. And everything I'm reading is saying that the Eleaf .5 coil is compatible but there is clearly a difference. And not necessarily in a good way

I've found that the different ohm coils need a different power setting (talking about coils in "power" mode). For .5 ohm coils you may want to be near about 30 to 40 watts. For the .3 coils you would want to be something like 50 to 60 watts. If you start to use the 1.1 ohm coils for "mouth to lung" vapes, 18 to 20 seems to be nearer the sweet spot. I start with these settings and then adjust up or down based on the vape I'm getting. You will probably have to experiment to find you own sweet spot that may change for different juices.

The Ijust2 doesn't have settings. I'm not sure if I'm not describing things correctly or not but like I said I'm literally 2 weeks into ecigs and have no idea what I'm doing or what most of the terminology means. It seems to be a fairly simple setup. Just fill it up, press the button and inhale, but something has clearly changed. I'm really not trying to sound ignorant, but I'm not well versed in any of this

Most batteries people use are able to adjust the power levels. If you look, the 0.3 coil is rated from 30-80 watts and the 0.5 is rated from 30-100 watts. So using the 0.5 on the same power settings as the 0.3 will result in different performance. This is remedied by adjusting the wattage on the battery until you get it to what you like. The problem is I have no idea how to do that on the battery that comes with the ijust2. The eleaf site says it's a direct output and that the more fully charged it is, the more power it will put out. That sounds really stupid because even the cheap little spinner batteries let you adjust the power. So I apologize but I'm not sure how to help there. There's nothing but the button you press to fire it and the charging port for the charger right? There's nothing else on it?

A few little notes though. Coils generally don't require cleaning. You can change flavors by just rinsing out the tank and filling up with the new juice. You'll get a couple hits of what was in there before, a couple weird mixed flavor hits, then it'll taste like the new juice. Trying to vaporize the water in the coil is probably not a good idea. Sometimes you can extend the life of the coil by rinsing it off or letting it soak. But you gotta let it dry out itself, or try a blow dryer. Just with cotton wicking material it probably won't perform the same as before. I used to clean my protank silica wicked coils regularly, but with cotton ones for my nautilus and Subtank Mini, I don't bother.

I'm getting some good advice, and I appreciate all of it. I was a little over a pack a day smoker and I'm transferring nicely to vaping. I'm considering looking into better mods/devices. But I would like a little help on what to try. I'm really interested in learning all I can. Any advice on a reliable, reasonably priced set ups that a novice can learn with and still get good results?

Nothing other than the charge port and the button to fire it up, I'm really beginning to question the vendor and the employee I purchased this device from. I'm mildly satisfied with this product but I'm not getting the hit or the clouds I was hoping for, granted I'm brand new to all of this but still..

After researching the system, the tank portion looks solid to me. The weak point is the battery. Normally I'd recommend getting either a 30 or 50w istick to go with it. But those coils are rated at a minimum of 30 watts. Now, my isub coils are rated 20-35 but I'll be damned if i can get them above 20 without frying it. My subtank mini is rated like 15 to 30 and performs beautifully even at 30W. So you can see that sometimes the recommended wattages aren't exactly accurate. Without actually sitting down and playing with the ijust I couldn't say how much power you actually need to get a good vape out of it. So in this instance, I'm not sure what to recommend.
In this situation I'd head over to the store and ask to play around with a few batteries and see what wattages you'll actually be using. They always have a few unboxed batteries around you could try. I know how those stores work, every time something new comes in, one comes out to be played with. Stick it on a 50 watt istick and set it to 20 watts and see what happens. Work your way up until it's doing what you want. If it's doing what you want at 20w get a 30w istick. If it's doing what you want at 40, get the 50w istick. If it doesn't perform to your preference until 70 or higher get the 100 watt istick and so on. Plus it's a vape store, I guarantee one of the dudes working there has a 200 watt mod he doesn't know how to use that you can start low with too. lol.
Anyways, I ramble. Good luck.

OH. MY. GOD. You really shouldn't have done that. This is what you should have done instead:

1. Soak the coil head in hot/warm water until the cotton is rid of most of the juice.

2. Dry the coil head with a towel or paper towel. Proceed to close the airholes with your finger and blow out (from the top) any remaining water or juice. This could take a good 5-10 mins as you would want to get as much of the water out as possible.

3. Leave the coil head to dry for at least a day before putting it back into the tank and filling it up with juice. You might want to re-prime the coil before that (once it's dry) just in case.

Stock coil heads are able to last up to a month with proper care and washing.

Yeah, you fired it trying to get the water out. They can be washed in water, but they should be air dried before use, or use a hair dryer. Your battery is not adjustable. the watts it puts on the coil is dependent on battery charge and coil value. You may want to look into a regulated mod so you can adjust it.

I just got my ijust2 last week. First off make sure to prime the coil well before going at it. That means putting a couple drops into each hole in the coil, then after filling the tank let it sit for 5 minutes to let the coil get good and soaked. Take a few hits without firing it up. The fire it in short busts till it begins producing vapor.
Are you a mouth to lung hitter or do you inhale directly into your lungs? The ijust2 is very airy, if you are a mtl user you probably useing the vape band. If so and you have it closed off the unit gets very hot and just doesn't work well. It seems to me to be made for direct lung hitters.

What I did was put away the battery for now and attached the tank to my istick 50. I vape between 20-35 watts and it works well. I did have to compromise in that I found it impossible still to inhale mouth to lung. So I am now a direct to lung hitter. Took a few days of a sore throat but I really wanted it to work.

Good luck!

I'm a direct lung hitter. I'm thinking I may have just gotten a bad product, I've attempted all the advice I've been given and nothing is working. I've had it for less than thirty days, so I believe I can return it for another. I am still considering in a box mod, but I'm not sure what to invest in for a beginner. I prefer tanks, I'm not trying to drip. Anyone have advice on what products are worthwhile?

I deleted a previous post on this thread.

My opinion is that iJust 2 is not exactly a cure-all flexible solution for everybody really. Sure, there are some people who buy it off they go to vaping nirvana but by the sounds of it you aren't getting a good vape from it and if you were, is 58 watts really the place to start?

Yours sounds broken/wrong/problem-ridden. If you can exchange it, get a variable watt mod (box, probably) and start again.
Clearly, if you took out the 0.3ohm and put in a 0.5ohm you are going to think it's lost a lot of it's power anyway. That's a big jump down in vaping power/vapour/watts.

As nice as it is (I woudn't mind one) I still don't see it as a starter kit. Whilst so many people starting vaping at 5.8 watts, eleaf decided to release a 58.0 watt device.
I'm not saying high power vaping is wrong but I just don't get the logic.

I've owned the Ijust2 for a couple months now. I know they're a few compatible coils (Aspire) you can use, but I find that the Eleaf ones work the best. I have to buy them online though, as I haven't found a vape shop that carries them in my area. BTW for the price...this thing rips! I also get a nice vape using the tank on my kanger subox mini at about 40-45 watts.
