First impressions:

From April 2019 I own the first iStick Rim which for characteristics I identify as the progenitor of this Mod, during these two years iStick Rim has been used almost daily by my wife without ever having given any problems, the paint is still as new and the circuit still works great.

So I welcome this new Eleaf iStick T80 Mod with "Gradient Red" coloring. Compared to the progenitor (iStick Rim) the light construction materials, the easy handling and the great autonomy of 3,000mAh of the integrated cell have remained unchanged.

The first visual differences I noticed are; a more oval-shaped factor form compared to the previous one, the different arrangement of the USB-C charging port that allows charging in an upright position and a larger display.

Eleaf "to be fashionable" could not give up proposing its version of the circular tank, by shamelessly copying VooPoo.

The great news is that VooPoo's two TPP and PnP tanks are perfectly compatible with Eleaf's Adjustable AFC Deck!
This feature doesn't bother me at all and I think many of you will appreciate it very much.

The screen made of plastic houses a good-sized display, the fire button, the Up / Down adjustment buttons and the USB type-C port for charging.
The Display is bright in "home" lighting conditions while in sunlight it becomes difficult to read. The Display shows all the information useful for Vaping; charge level of the cell, Volt, Ohm, total number of puffs, selected mode, power and duration of the last puff.
The more oval handle compared to Rim-C increases the general ergonomics of this Mod.

I really like the coloring with a red to black gradient, the black matches the PCTG tank and the plastic of the screen, while the red part makes the Mod lively and highlights the white identification lettering on the side panels.

The cup is in a slightly off-center position is attached to the mod via two torx screws and houses a spring loaded gold / plated pin. Atomizers with a maximum diameter of up to 26mm find a good welcome.

On the bottom are present; the brand, the logo and six small holes for venting the integrated cell in case of problems.

GTL Pod Tank 25mm:
As I said it is a clone of the VooPoo PnP tank for better or for worse, the "bad" consists of the non-replaceable drip-tip, while the "good" consists of the same positive characteristics, namely: PCTG Tank with wide transparency, comfortable refill from below with generous 3.8mm hole and capacity up to 4.5ml. The coils are not compatible with those of VooPoo but maintain the same insertion mode.

Eleaf's base with adjustable AFC like that of VooPoo has a knurled adjustment ring, but it has some better features than VooPoo, in fact this ring is equipped with limit switches and double DL and MTL adjustment, in fact 5 small opposing holes have been added for MTL vaping, great news.

The 25mm GTL Pod Tank due to its great AFC design might be perfect for MTL too, but the very large drip-tip makes it more suitable for RDL / DL vaping like VooPoo's PnP Tank.

* For those who want a "real" Tank MTL it is advisable to combine this kit with the 2ml GTL Pod Tank (sold separately).
Eleaf GTL Pod Tank 4.5ml/2ml with GTL Coils

GTL Coils:
Eleaf includes in this kit two different types of Coil both made in Kanthal, the Coil GTL 0.4Ω (20-30W) is suitable for a very wide type of RDL or MTL vape
the other Coil GTL 0,8Ω (12-18W) is suitable for MTL / RDL.
For a restricted MTL type vape with the 2ml GTL Pod Tank a third option is available that can be purchased separately; Kanthal Coil GTL 1,2Ω (07-13W).

Operation Guide:
- Power on / off: Press the Fire button 5 times
- Display lock / unlock: Press Up / Down together
- Vape mode selection: Press the Fire button 3 times, press +/- to choose a mode among Wattage (VW), Bypass, TC-Ni, TC-Ti, TC-SS316,
TCR-M1, TCR-M2 and TCR-M3.
- In Wattage mode (VW), you can adjust the power by 0.1W at a time from 1 to 80W.
- In TC mode (Ni, Ti, SS, TCR-M1 / M2 / M3), first press the power button 4 times in quick succession and then press the +/- button to adjust the power.
- Temperature adjustment: in TC mode (Ni, Ti, SS, TCR-M1 / M2 / M3), you can press the +/- buttons to increase / decrease the temperature value.

- Main menu:
Press the FIre / Up buttons at the same time to enter the menu, here you can lock / unlock the coil in TC mode, activate / deactivate the stealth mode, check the firmware version, check the battery status, activate / deactivate the preheating function in mode Wattage (WW), set the TCR value in TCR mode (M1 / M2 / M3) by simply pressing the +/- button to move or adjust and press the Fire button once to confirm your choice.
You can also reset the Puff / Time counter to zero by first navigating to the Puff / Time submenu and then holding down the + button.
After completing the settings, you can move to the EXIT icon and press the Fire button to confirm and return to the main interface.

- Short circuit protection: When a short circuit occurs, the screen displays "Atomizer Short".
- Low voltage protection: When the voltage of the device is less than 3.3V, the device will not turn on. Charge your device to wake it up.

Final Considerations:

While writing this text I briefly compared this Mod with a very similar one I have owned for 2 years (iStick Rim). In fact, the iStick Rim has proved to be robust and effective enough to be still like new after a fairly intense use, this leads me to think that iStick T80 is a worthy alternative of similar size and weight, but with some changes that have made for better comfort.

Eleaf iStick T80 offers many modes of vaping and adjustment, the circuit as precision and performances I think it is in the average of this type of products low cost.

The Mod near the full charge (4V) shows the cell icon flashing, but to get the full charge (4.2V) you have to wait for the display to turn off completely.
The battery works in a range that goes from 4.2V to 3.3V, at 3.5V the charge indicator starts flashing with a slight decrease in performance, at the end of the charge (about 3.3V) the Mod turns off, so it is necessary to recharge.
* A complete cycle of recharging the 3,000mAh battery lasts about 90 minutes, at 20W I managed to do 506 Puff.

The new GTL Pod Tank system as I have already anticipated has a cartridge that is the photocopy of those of VooPoo (PnP Tank) compatible with the VooPoo deck, so both the PnP and the recent TPP tank of VooPoo are compatible with the Eleaf deck .
The Eleaf AFC system offers greater quality and adjustment possibilities than that of VooPoo, however the coils are not interchangeable and the Coil GTL range is not as complete for the DL vape.

The Kanthal Coil GTL 0.4Ω (20-30W) if used at 25W has a decent aromatic yield in combination with a not too open AFC adjustment, at 20W surprisingly it has an equally decent MTL yield in combination with the adjustment with holes (MTL).

The other Coil GTL 0,8Ω (12-18W) is suitable for MTL / RDL and in combination with a restricted AFC regulation it behaves as aromatic yield in an excellent way, the most fussy will find the Drip-Tip unsuitable for use MTL because it is too wide, in this regard Eleaf ran for cover by building a 2ml GTL Tank with Drip-Tip of adequate size to be purchased separately.
Perhaps Eleaf could simplify things by designing a single tank with replaceable Drip-Tip.

Surely this Mod is not very recent, however the renewed Tank system offers different combination possibilities, so ultimately I would recommend this Kit with integrated battery for those who want to start or for those looking for a good cheap, reliable replacement, with good finishes and with more than decent MTL and RDL performance.
