Still having trouble with my eleaf iStick. Now nearly all my atties which work perfectly well on my Vamo V5 won't work on my eleaf.

Just keep getting the 'Automizer Short' message. Sometimes if I play around with it I can get it to work for a few drags but I'm finding this increasingly frustrating.

It won't work at all on my brand new iClear 30b. I bought the Ileaf particularly for the long battery life but that's not much good to me if the automizer's won't work on it.

Took it to my local Vape shop and he tried but again only intermittent success.

Is this a problem known to the eleaf iStick or am I just unlucky enough to have a dude?

Have been in touch with the vendors I bought it from, waiting for them to get back to me. Think I will end up sending it back but for the first few days it was brilliant. Sooooooooo disappointed.

Hi Redruth,

Hopefully the vendor will replace your faulty iStick. Other users have reported problems with their center pin and issues with 510 threading. Until you hear from the vendor, try gently pulling the center pin up with tweezers to get a better connection.

I had the same issue you described with my first iStick starting the first week I had it. To begin with it was the "atomizer short" messages then within a few days the threads were useless. I've had two other iSticks in daily use for the past month and have had no problems with them at all.

There is a lot of good info about the iStick here: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/variable-voltage-apv-discussion/601111-eleaf-istick.html

I've discovered the Eleaf is very sensitive to liquid in the threads and hole (is there a technical name for that hole?)
I had the same problem with low atomizer readings or it reading no atomizer.
I thought my coil had gone, but it just turned out to be liquid where it shouldn't be.
Give it a run round with a cotton bud or paper towel - including the bottom of the atomizer.
Hope that helps.

The "mounting hole".

It's probably the rubber 0-ring around the pin. It's either missing or broken. The same thing happens with the MVP. You can get a ten pack of DANCO #60s for two bucks from home depot. I know they fit the mvp so if the pin is the same size in the istick it should work

Yeah this is the fix. A couple of months back I went to Home Depot and bought a 10 pack of these. Well actually when I got home and looked in the box there was only 7 but whatever lol. My KSD eHuge 510 connection got messed up probably how yours is. The pin got pushed down too far and nothing would make a connection. Everything said no atty or whatever the error message is for vamos.

All you have to do is take a small screw driver or something or a safety pin and dig that white insulator out of there. Then once you got that out take your Danco o-ring and cut it. Not in half but just cut one side, so that you can open it to fit around the 510 pin. Once you cut it slide it down into the 510 connection past the pin, all the way to the bottom, as far down as it will go. Then push the pin down through the o-ring.

Sounds complicated but it's really not. Took me 10 minutes and it permanently fix my eHuge. I really was hesitant about doing surgery on my $140 mod, but it was definitely worth it. So give that a try because that's an imfamous problem with the spring loaded 510's. 2014-11-18 11.58.21.jpg

my wonkered iStick does that I'll get "no atomizer" and whatever is screwed down all I'd dare do it, I just pop the pin a little bit with my pinky nail or a screwdriver and it works after that. I should've sent it back but the box got tossed..so no crying over spilt milk.

the other five collectively between me, Ed and my daughter work great. Never had that issue with them.

I was actually able to fix my mvp without cutting the o-ring. You can use a small screwdriver or tweezers to pull the pin out far enough to wrap the o-ring around it and once you do that just push the pin back in. I don't know if the same would be true for the istick or other mods. There is a video somewhere on youtube demonstrating it, a simple search for repairing a shorting mvp should find it. I thought my mvp was completely shot so for twenty cents I now have a perfectly working $40 mod again.

Brass, fixed pin connectors are a guaranteed, eventual failure waiting to happen. Bet you a dollar more and more people will start to have issues with the istick's crap connector. I still can't believe how many consumers and manufacturers completely overlook the importance of having a proper connection between power supply's and atomizers. Brass 510 threads and fixed pins? Really? That's the kind of physical and electrical connection between the two major components you're going to build into your product? Cheap garbage.

I'm sorry your new istick has problems. It can happen to any device with a 510 pin. Below are links to fix the problem. There are also some videos on YouTube that are specific to the istick. The vendor may find the info useful.

I ordered 5 of the Circuit Board Spacers from Madvapes. $0.89 ea. They are very tiny which makes sense as they sit on top of the 510 pin.
