Facts:
1. I have 1 istick 20 and 1 istick 50
2. I have an ohm meter and several other mech mods
3. I have a Lemo II

Now for the past week the iSticks and the Lemo seem to have developed an antipathy for each other. The Lemo will give a reading on the ohm meter and will fire on the mech mods. Both iSticks will fire any other atty I have. But the Lemo refuses to make contact with either of the iSticks. This has only started this last week or so - it was fine before. And to think they were all born of the same parent!! I just can't figure it out.

Does sound like the connection. I know I can not use a Lemo with the iStick 20 but can with the iStick 30. The 30 has a spring loaded 510 conn and the 20 does not. At least that is what I've been told by the vendor where I bought the "sticks"..... of course after I bought and tried with the Lemo.....lol

Thanks all. Pulling out the pins on the iSticks does not help. Like I said the sticks work perfectly with all my other atties. The only thing that helps is taking off the bottom part of the Lemo and adjusting the pin (marked with red arrow in pic) on the Lemo itself. The trouble with that is you stand a good chance of the resistance jumping about which makes me feel uneasy. I found you need to unscrew that pin just the right amount for it to hold steady.Still a mystery to me that it does this only on the iSticks since it seems to indicate that the loose connection is inside the atty itself. But then why does it not do that with all mods or the ohm meter? Boqq!

. Don't put it on a direct to battery connection (I wouldn't).

Lol I wouldn't either!!! I still have marks on my ceiling and walls to remind me that doing such a thing is not a good idea! :D

So you mean - find the right setting and try to keep it there with an o-ring? Will try to do that.

The o ring might help extend it. At the very least it will keep that pin from recessing itself all the time.

I remember the SMPL pipe bomb. The Lemo is an example of an atty one should not trust on that mod. I wanted to point that out for others reading.

You didn't by any chance COMPLETELY disassemble the part labeled coil stand in @Papillon61 photo you? I had the same thing happen when I removed the pin on the bottom part of that component for cleaning. Since I was new to building, I thought my coils were unstable. Eventually, I figured out that I needed to remove that component again, make sure that the airflow adjustment ring was screwed all the way to the top of that pin, and then reassemble. Once I did that, the problem was gone.

just really impressed you used "antipathy" and correctly:lol:

that's strange though...I just got my 50watt in yesterday and the bottom plate while screwed in has a lot of wiggle in it..so when I set it down it sounds like a shuffle ball change:rickroll::grr:

I hate seeing that..when a company takes off ..quality goes to cra*.:-x

Aren't the Lemo and iStick made by the same company? Thinking that true I always wondered why they would sell devices that were not compatible with each other. Maybe I am wrong about both being made by the same company..... I know I made one other mistake before.....;)

Yes they are made by the same company - hence the title of this thread - and until about a week ago I had absolutely no problem using them together. The problem developed very recently maybe because the inner center pin is not as tight as it used to be and has developed a bit of play which becomes more marked on the iSticks. I've had the 50 watt over three months now, the 20 for like 2 months and the Lemo II also for about the same time. Apart from this minor issue, which I seem to have solved using @roxynoodle 's suggestion of using an o-ring, I personally have not complaints about them.

My Gus Estia had a falling out with an sx mini s class. He prefers being mated with a Sigelei 100W. He's a fickle guy, what can I do? Next month he might get the hots for another mod.

That's right. :) Who knows maybe the iSticks and the Lemo thought the relationship was too incestuous. :D

Well, mine never did hit it off. No problems with Ehpro KFL's on the 20 but never a Lemo. I'll have to try the "roxynoodle fix" ....would one of those little O-rings off the screwdrivers that come with attys be about the right size?

Yep :). When all else fails, steal them off the screwdrivers.

I used a small o-ring, a pack of which I had bought some time back to use on my drip tips that had lost their own o-rings. I mean that's the kind of size we are looking at.
