The Elephone ELE P70-LAISIMO 70W TC Box mod was sent by gearbest for purposes of review, its available for $29.99 currently from Original Elephone ELE P70-LAISIMO 70W TC Box Mod
Theres also a black and a white version available too for the same price as well as a pink and red one that they make but have not seen them available yet, possibly the covers will be for sale separately too.
This is the first mod by the company Elephone that makes reasonably priced but high end hardware smartphones and a few other gadgets too, in association with Laisimo. The mod is a single 18650 mini box mod that goes up to 70 watts with temperature control for nickel and titanium wire.
Its a uniquely designed aluminium and zinc alloy mod with a metal cover that has a stitched pu leather covering in 5 colors with the elephone logo debossed into the material on both sides. The control surface is unique too in that its concave with a long rounded fire button with the screen below and then the + and - buttons below that. The screen is a high res screen that seems similar to snow wolf screens so it could be a similar chip used. All the information needed is displayed such as the battery indicator, resistance and applied voltage to 2dp as well as the wattage and the mode you are in. In temp mode it'll display either ni or ti as well as the temperature selected instead of watts. The adjustment is done in temperature rather than watts in either fahrenheit or celsius and in 1 degree increments too. The voltage will change in real time to display the applied voltage and changes due to the temperature selected and whether its achieved that temp or not.
To use the mod its quite simple, you either use + or - to change the watts in power mode or + or - to change the temp in temp mode, You can change between celsius or fahrenheit too by going to the highest temp or lowest. Its 5 clicks to switch on or off the mod.
hold + and - for 5s to access menu to select ni, power, ti with + or - arrow then click power button
hold - and power to set resistance
hold + and power to lock - system locked
hold + and power again - system unlocked
screen dims at 7-8s
screen switches off at 11-12s
When screen is off it fires with a 1sec delay, same with dimmed screen, when screen is on theres no delay however.
In temp mode the mod remembers last res, if u change atty, press - first then press home button to unlock it.
The mod itself has nice clicky buttons, however the + and - has a bit of play from left to right so can rattle if you shake the mod a bit, but its not too noticeable. The firing button is fine however, although since its a relatively long button it seems to be clickier at the middle to lower part of the button where the top most part of the button is less clicky. The cover was a bit rattly at first but a slight squeeze of the cover sorted it out and it didn't rattle at all after. The battery area inside was not too tight but holds the battery in place and theres cutouts on either side of the battery to move the battery in or out, It seems easiest to remove the battery with both poles at the same time. The 510 is spring loaded but not a very firm spring and everything so far sat flush, a kayfun with a long 510 screwed down with no noticeable resistance against the spring and some drippers with almost no protruding positive pins made a connection too.
The interior is tidy with just the battery sled to see made of plastic but not very thick plastic but the rest of the body seemed very sturdy including the cover. The magnets are not the strongest ones but hold the cover in place fine as the cover is supported in place by the mod itself, but it didn't fall off when trying to shake it off. The magnets at the top and bottom of the cover are the same poles and device is the opposite so cover can be installed both ways. The only slight issue I noticed on mine was there was a small gap between black painted cover and the bottom shiny metal part of the mod but its a very small gap so not very noticeable, I saw a few reviews of the mod and pictures and in some the gap could be just about seen but not all. Its likely that the top and bottom of the mod could be squeezed together somehow to sort this out, but as its part of the whole frame its quite sturdy so would need some force to do that.
The chip and screen appear to be the same as the ones used in the mini snow wolf 75 watt too and even the sigelei fuchai 200 seems to have a similar one but up to 200 watts.
The temp control worked good with a 0.35 ohm titanium build using 0.5mm wire and didn't burn the cotton even after continuously pressing the fire button. Some slight marks on the cotton at around 340f-350f with the cotton starting to give off smoke around 380-390f, so it seems to be performing decent.
Specs:

20s cutoff for ni

board temp protect at 75c
Pros:
Great price
Nice looking mod thats sturdy
Great hi res screen
temp control in nickel and titanium
Compact design
Spring loaded 510
Cons:
Slightly rattly + and - buttons
Slight gap between cover and body
Less clicky at the top of the firing button than the middle or bottom of the button
Screen shutoff is quite quick with the 1s delay after
Micro usb at the bottom of the mod so can't charge whilst the mod is sitting upright + no usb cable included
Overall its unique looking mod that has good features, a great screen and is very well priced too. Theres a few relatively small issues but if its the exact same chip the mini snow wolf uses then the price might make up for those issues as the snow wolf is around double the price of the ele p70.
