I have been vaping about 5 months and have completely quit smoking. I have been reading the forums since the start but just recently registered. I have noticed that about 75% of liquids I try, I don't like. Not sure if it's just me or my taste buds. The first I tried was cherry tobacco from volcano....it's wasn't bad but had a cough syrup taste. Then I ordered domestic blend/expresso from Johnson creek. Loved it. But I ran out. Ever since then most liquids I buy are nasty.
I tried vt vapor which is a local place for me. Their all vg juices taste like NOTHING. It had no flavor whats so ever. But I could taste this over all creamy/bland taste that wasn't good. I attributed that to the VG. So after that experience I bought some totally wicked marlboro and redbullion and coffee. I loved them all compared to the liquids I had tasted so far. There was that bland creamy undertone/after taste that most of the other liquids had. I can't remember if johnson creek had it or not or if this disliking has has just been slowly getting worse for me and now I won't be able to vape because it's always there.
THe totally wicked has a sourness to it even though it's sweet. I can't explain it. I just don't taste any of that after taste. However, their coffeee flavor taste cheap or doesn't go well with the sourness they add to liquids.

After totally wickeds order, I followed a reviews advice for and tried cinnabuns/ry4/cappuccino from freedom smoke and ended up with the same thing. Good flavors just nasty after taste the got worse the more i vaped.

I tried honeybeez/cinnarolz from digital cigs and those were better, but still had it. again the actual flavors arn't bad, i just taste a chemical that makes me want to vomit 15mins into vaping.

PG is better for me than vg but didn't fix the problem.

Now for the worst Experience yet, I ordered from gourmet vapors...like 14 different flavors on a 50% off sale and all of them were absolutely disgusting. They had the same kinda aftertaste just different (worse) Something wasn't right with this order. I think some of the flavors may have been rotten cuz I threw up after vaping a few of them....yes actually threw up. I think they must have been old and rotting. (thats what it tasted like) I am seriously scarred from this experience. So I have like 35 bottles of liquid and I'd say 27 of which i can't vape.

I loved totally wicked. the flavor was great. no bad after taste. But I have issues with their company and their prices. WAY TOO MUCH $30 for 30ml before shipping....that more than i spent when i smoked. I don't think they care about getting people of cigarettes and onto vaping like a lot of the other companies.

And I am not trying to dis all these vendors and flavors...it's just my experince. My last vape was two hours ago right before I threw up and I can get the taste of Gourmet Vapors out of my mouth. It had to have been turning bad. That's probably why they had a sale. But if they knew that, they should have trashed it. This is like food products. Grocery stores don't sell outdated foods...

Are there any other liquids that taste similar to totally wicked eliquids? Anyone else have this issue? Any advice?

I doubt that the juice you ordered from GV was bad because they have to mix everything fresh and you'd probably smell if the juice was rancid before you could even vape it. Some people just have a really hard time with flavors and have to spend a great deal of time finding the right vendor and the right flavors. Perhaps you should try DIY juice. Once you get 5 posts you'll be able to read and post to the DIY sub-forum and learn more about this. It really isn't as difficult as it seems and you might be happier with the results.

I don't order anything direct from China. There are plenty of US vendors who sell everything you need for DIY.

Sacker, bruiser; thanks for giving the excellent advice that I failed to give. Steeping is a great idea and I have to do that with most of the flavors I get from VaporBomb and GV. It also applies to my DIY mixes.

I'm going on my 28th hour without sleep. Not even exaggerating. I'm trying to get my sleep schedule back to normal after taking almost 2 weeks off from work.

1. Don't ever leave e-liquid anywhere hot - they can start tasting bad

2. Did many of the flavors you had problems with have cream or vanilla flavors (btw even 555 and RY4 tobaccos have vanilla)? Sometimes I taste a baby powdery flavor - some people describe it as perfumy. This can often be solved by letting juices steep - put somewhere safe that they won't get knocked over and kids/pets can't get at them. Take off the cap and pop the dripper off (use a tissue and push sideways on the dripper). And let them sit open for several hours or overnight, then pop the dropper back in and close them back up. If they are still perfumy then let sit. I think also there is just some vanilla/cream flavoring that doesn't agree with my tastebuds.

One type of ejuices I have not gotten a perfumey/baby powder aroma from (yet) on are those made with Flavourart flavors (like what FreedomSmokeUSA uses and some other mixers also use them - you will recognize some distinctive juice names like Hypnotic Mist and oRYental if a mixer is using Flavourart flavorings). And they are currently closed, but I also have no problem with the vanillas of Velvet Vapors. I haven't tried any creamy flavors from Backwoods Brew but I did order his Dulce de Leche (don't have it yet) and expect it to be fine because he makes a lot of his own flavorings.

3. Do you clean your attys and carts periodically? I swap attys every weekend and clean the used one by soaking in alcohol overnight then scooping some through it, shake out and let dry (I use vodka but grain alcohol would be better). Carts - eventually I toss the white stuffing and replace with blue foam, or I just start using a new cart.

4. Some flavors can stick in an atty or cart (or carto) and take a while to disappear. Also, someone in the DIY section discovered that flavors you can smell right through the bottle can actually contaminate other flavors with their aroma. So store any strong aroma bottle separately.

Awesome thanks for the advice. I had heard about DIY, but I thought it might be over my head.

Just make sure to read everything you can and ask questions before you start DIY. It's just like when you first start vaping; take it one step at a time. If you just order a bunch of stuff and try to jump right in you probably won't be a happy vaper.

Nice. I will try leaving the juices out and let them steep. One other thing I have tried was mixing some Glycerin into the mix...to make more vapor. But I bought the CVS Pharmacy usp stuff and could definitey taste it...in a bad way. So I stay away. That was a while ago. I will give some things a try. There might be some vanilla and cream in the juices I choose. In my daily eating habits, i love foods/drinks that are creamy. So I probably choose my juices accordingly. Thanks for advice. Well appreciated!

Flavors are hard and different for each of us. I only order a few pre-mixed anymore because I prefer DIY. You have one up on me in the fact that you sort-of liked TW...I for one have tried 6 of their flavors and didn't like any; however my neighbor jumped at the opportunity to purchase, so it worked out. Good luck to you, and I understand the frustration and loss of money in your search, but if you know enough about DIY and diligently education yourself on how to properly do it, that may be something for you to look into.

There are two "tastes" that I have found in various juices...
--A slightly perfumey sort of undertone
--A slightly greasy chemical sort of undertone

The slightly perfumey undertone I have found in a quite a few vendors juices.
There was one vendor in particular where that undertone was in every juice, and I threw ALL of them in the trash.

There are also vendors where I have never found any juice that has that undertone.

Then there was one vendor where I found that greasy chemical undertone in almost every juice flavor.
It is a vendor who does not say their percentage of VG that they use, but I'm pretty sure it's a lot.

And I'm pretty sure that is what that undertone was.
I think I don't really like the taste of VG much.

I feel ya! I was off work for two weeks around Christmas and the first of the year, and I'm just now getting back on schedule. It's hard. It makes me realize that when I retire, I'm gonna love it. Ha. I actually USED to (long ago) think I'd get bored. Now I know I could definitely be retired. Ha. My natural bio-rhythms are such that I could stay up until about 3-4 am every night and then sleep until noon. Ha.
