Hello and welcome to the forum Lionel. Glad to have you here!:)

If your brain is hungry for info & links on battery safety, Ohm's Law, amp draw, etc I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (one of our resident battery experts) and visit his blogs. You are now 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you). Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding mods and rebuildables are listed below:

BATTERIES

9. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

17. Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

14. Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

16. Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

MECHANICAL MODS & REBUILDABLES

7. Information Resources for Your First RBA
* An essential read and reference guide for someone new to rebuilding coils. Includes a multitude of useful links on battery safety, mod safety, coil meters, coil building, and the differences in the three types of RBA's.

15. Inexpensive Mechanical Mod and RDA Setup
* A response to the frequently asked question on how to get into rebuildable atomizers with a mechanical mod inexpensively. Includes a list of commonly used tools and supplies for rebuilding and where to find them.

BATTERIES - WHERE TO BUY

Only buy batteries from a reputable supplier (not ebay or Amazon) as there are many counterfeit batteries being sold. Here are several reputable battery suppliers in the US.

* RTD Vapor
* Illumination Supply
* Lighthound
* Orbtronics

Hiya, Lionel Scott and welcome to the forum!

When I get a bit tired of "answering the same old questions" I vape a bit and it goes away. :) Wait - no - that's the craving for cigs!
:facepalm:

Anyway, I see that you're interested in doing some DIY juices, so here are a few good links for your reading pleasure:

For all things DIY head on over to the DIY ELiquid Forum.

You will not be able to post there until you get in your first 5 posts and the servers update at :25 past the hour. Make sure to read all the "stickies". Also check out the blogs by ECF members Hoosier & dannyv45.

dannyv45 posted this thread a while ago. Recommended Reading For People New to DYI.

For a juice mixing calculator consider using eJuiceMeUp

Here are some threads you may like to read through for different flavoring companies. Many of the posts include recipes and comments about a specific flavor.

1. Flavor Arts (FA) - Pure Vapes has 3ml FlavourArt flavorings
2. The Flavor Apprentice (TFA) - The Flavor Apprentice Flavoring Thread
3. Inawera (IW) - Inawera - a few reviews
4. Hangsen - The Hangsen Thread
5. VapingZone (VZ) - New Super Concentrated Flavors & New Super Concentrated Flavors - Part 2

DIY Recipe Sites

* ECF E-Liquid Recipes <= Place to post your recipes here on ECF
* EcigExpress Archive Cookbook
* E-Liquid Recipes UK
* kritikalmass - E-Liquid Recipes
* One Stop DIY Shop - Recipes

Hope that helps and Happy Vaping!

thank you guys for all the info.:D. i have already started reading into the DIY forums and the Mech Mod stuff. this forum has been very helpful. just need to be able to post out side of the new members lol. as far as DIY E-juice it was recommended to me to go through wizard labs (which so far has had great pricing) so i have been building my flavor list and looking at different recipes and of course thinking of ways to create some of my own lol. as far as my Mod goes going to my local B&M tomorrow to look into another RDA and maybe a back up Mod and grab a little bit of help with building. I'll stop blabbing now lol.. Thanks again for all the info. :toast::D:D

so did my 1st quad coil build and super excited lol. its burning at .04 0.40 ohm so super proud. will post the pics of my crazy little build later. currently trying to get used to how this thing vapes.

There, I fixed that for you.:)

No one who had read up on battery safety and respected the CDR (continuous amp draw) of their batteries (see my post #4) would be so foolish as to build and vape a 0.04 ohm build.

Srsly?

Please take the advice and criticism you're undoubtedly going to receive about battery safety VERY seriously.

You are putting yourself at what could turn out to be a very serious risk.

Sent from my device.

Let's hope it's a typo....

OP, 0.04Ω is, for all intents and purposes, a short. Please read more about battery safety before you proceed to DIY. :)
