Just a suggestion if any one is interested, I would love to learn more about different coil builds. I ordered a kayfun Lite / Russian 91% clone. It should be in by Thursday. I've watched the how to videos on You Tube but nothing is better than hands on training. I got so much out of the last coil building class and would like to learn more about specific builds.

IMO, keep at it if the sessions are available. Learn and practice the material, and then pass it on to those of us who couldn't attend the first time. Remember, per their invitation there's no need to wait on an official class. We're welcome to get together and hang out any time, and there's no reason we can't hold our own impromptu or make-up sessions :)

I like a 1.1 ohm coil on mine. 28 kanthal, 5/64 drill bit, 7 wraps micro coil...cotton (i know you like yarn) ...a majic moment !!

Great build for VV/VW mods since they wont fire at 1.0 ohm or less

Yep I do like yarn. I am lazy, it's so simple and works very nice with the tridents. Not so much on my caravela atty clone. I yanked the wire mesh out and replaced with peaches & creme yarn. Great vapor but the taste is no where as good as the tridents. I don't think that I like the Genesis style.

Got my Kayfun Lite / Russian 91% clone in the mail today. I took it apart and have it in the ultrasonic cleaner right now. Then I'll try to figure out how to get it back together again, lot's of small pieces. Luckily it did come with spare parts. I have been watching all the you tube vids, but most aren't very much help to me (or maybe I am just dumber than dirt). I will follow your instructions and try for the 1.1 ohm coil w/ cotton and see how that goes. Thanks

If not....we will see you tomorrow. :vapor:

Nothing I want to learn tomorrow. We can build your coil if you want to....But if I know you, you'll have it done by then.

You're right. I love this kayfun, it brought out the peach in my RY4 that was totally weak in the protanks.

Took me forever to get the coil right and it's still far from perfect. I did not want to go this low ohms (.83) but I had already been messing with it for hours. The thing is, it hits with such a big punch that is scares me. It's like a mini explosion, is it supposed to do that?

Yea it will pack a nice little punch. The small chimney part is doing that. Same thing with my Aqua. I run it right around .7-.8 ohms. The Kayfun has a smaller chimney so it is a little more intense. As long as you have some good batteries in there you should be fine.

Thanks for the reassurance. I was worried that I had done something wrong, none of my other RBA/RDA's have that much punch. I am using the 18500 batteries that I bought from SteamCigs last week. I will bring my Kayfun with me tomorrow night and see if I can get some pointers on a better setup.

I will be there. I will help if you need. I am sure there will be some better coil builders than myself though. Are you wrapping your coil on a drill bit? If so what size?. I found that using a little bigger inside diameter of the coil helped as well.

I really feel this makes all other toppers obsolete. I really do. You can drip it too without that tank on if you want. Just vape through that little chimney top.......:2cool:

I need to get to this store, I have heard amazing things about it from my local vaping friends!
Love a local vapeshop that has this much personality!

Its just a good hang out. Theres a round table to your right when you walk in..... usually vapers sitting there talking, vaping, building coils and stuff. Just come on in a sit down and get with the mix. (other tables too) ;)

Ohh... I did not realize that. This just keeps getting better. Of everything that I have tried so far the kayfun takes 1st place.

My little tackle box was overflowing so I got a new train case for my "stuff". I was jealous of the new one that Chris got. I have been having a ball organizing it.

I've used a toothpick, a 5/64 drill bit, a syringe needle and for some reason I keep getting low ohms. I've used 28 & 32 gauge wire 5 wraps all the way up to 8 wraps. They still came out @.5 ohm to .8 ohm. I am doing something wrong because before they always came out to 1.8. I would like to get the resistance up so I can use my regulated mods as well as the mechs.
