I'm trying to help a friend in finding his place in the land of vaping. He went to a B&M and purchased a smok Tech 900mAh eGo RBC Kit.

He uses disposable clearos on them because he doesn't want to have to deal with changing coils/cleaning tanks. The two batteries that came with this kit are now broken 3 weeks into vaping and I can tell that he's going to throw in the towel and go right back to smoking 2PAD.

Aside from the Provari Mini, is there anything else I can suggest to him that uses separate rechargeable batteries while also maintaining a low profile/size and is low maintenance? I think he's just too rough on these ego/twists/spinners for it to be a long term solution.

Thanks in advance!

Yeah, I think that's kind of tough, because there's a certain percentage of early failures with all the made in China PVs. Anything with separate batteries is going to be bigger than the eGos. I've been using iTaste VV3s, but the first one I bought started losing quite a bit of battery capacity after only 9 weeks. Hopefully the other two I own will work better.

Like the other poster said, maybe another brand. I started with Kanger Evod batteries and they are still working. I just don't use them much since I got the iTaste VVs

I have a friend that hates the idea of a clunky eCig. After weeks of trying friends he went with a small telescoping mech mod that we put a Smok Tech "Fuse" on so there weren't any issues with accidental button presses. I can't remember what tank he has but it is a standard 510 threaded using atomizers. He was terrified that it would be too much but very quickly warmed up to it and says he prefers the thicker body. We both use trust fire batteries and have never had an issue.

Would a Reo Mini 2.1 be a possibility? Not cheap by any stretch, but once the initial learning curve is down it's a pretty easy and dependable vape. Can also use regular attys or even cartomizers, no tank type things to fiddle with. http://www.reosmods.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=36&Itemid=3

While I love my Reo and they can take a beating. It's a bit pricey to recommend for someone who may not stick with vaping.
Tho OP, might be able to take it off his hands if he doesn't stick with it.

A better choice might be a k100/101 or something along those lines, cheap enough to see if it would work for him.
With an 18350 and a carto-tank on top they are pretty low profile.
