Hello again, everyone. I have been using the contents of my Aspire Premium Starter kit for a little over a month now and I think I have worked out all of the bugs so far (there really aren't many problems with this thing at all, to be quite honest). It now has become a little process every time I need to clean and/or fill my Aspire Nautilus Mini tank that it came with, so I've gone ahead and compiled a list of helpful hints for cleaning, filling, and maintaining this type of tank. Remember that the tank is really the only part of this type of mod that actually requires maintenance, other than charging the battery. So here we go:
Filling:
-Everyone probably knows this, but don't try to overfill the tank with fluid.
-Make sure the atomizer coil is completely screwed into the bottom cap of the tank before reassembling the tank. You want the threads of the atomizer coil itself to be screwing into the middle portion of the inside of the tank.
-After filling, shake the whole tank vigorously for about 10 seconds to mix the fluid up. If you just added a new flavor and/or just replaced the atomizer coil with a new one, then let the tank sit upright for at least a good 10 minutes to soak up the wick with liquid.
Cleaning:
-Make sure to have q-tips, tissues, and some alcohol prep pads handy for cleaning. You may also want to get some distilled water to completely clean the tank with.
-Remove the drip tip first. Clean inside the tip with a q-tip, as well as the hole in the tank where the tip is inserted. Use an alcohol swab to clean the "lip crud" off of the outside of the drip tip (the part that goes in your mouth).
-Unscrew the bottom of the tank. Then unscrew the atomizer coil. Clean off both the bottom of the tank and the atomizer coil well with a tissue, then use a q-tip to clean inside of the top of the atomizer coil.
-Clean out the internal threads that the atomizer coil screws into with a q-tip.
-If you want to, you can rinse out the inside of the tank with distilled water. This helps when changing flavors. Just make sure to let it dry completely before refilling it and using it again.
Maintaining:
-Remember to change the atomizer coil whenever it needs to be replaced. Usually, you can tell by the heavily reduced vapor production that the coil is about to die. Only replace the coil with authentic Aspire BVC coils for the Nautilus.
-Make sure to have plenty of extra fluid and at least one 5-pack of extra atomizer coils on hand so that you can always enjoy your vape without interruption. For me, the coils last about 7 to 10 days before they need to be replaced. However, the coils last for different amounts of time for different people, so don't be surprised if you get more or less life out of a coil than I do.
-In my experience, the 1.8 ohm coils work more consistently than the 1.6 ohm coils do. WORLDofVAPE - Best Vape - Best Price sells both, so buy whichever ones work for you. They also ship quickly to anywhere in the US (usually no more than a 3 day wait).
-One final note that I'll add here: I did the smart thing and upgraded my tank right off the bat by buying a stainless steel sleeve for the glass portion of the tank. It has cutouts so that you can still see the liquid in it (and it still has the Pyrex glass inside of it), but it is made of metal on the outside so it won't break if you accidentally drop it. That and it's only about another $10.00 on the above mentioned website. Here's the link to the part: Aspire Nautilus Mini Hollowed Out Sleeve - $9.45 - WORLDofVAPE
So there you go. You now have a basic maintenance guide for your Aspire Nautilus or Nautilus Mini tank. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask as I will be online for most of the day today.
Happy vaping to all.
