A lot of members have far far much more stuff than I, lol, but I have found that not only are e-cigs a pleasurable way to quit smoking, it has become a hobby for me as well :)

With that said, I have thus far probably spent more on vaping than smoking. Alot of that is start up though, because, well I'm spoiled :p or, rather, impulsive

1.How much did you spend on analogs (cigarettes) per month before you started vaping? $200.00 ish dollars/mo
2.How long have you vaped? Just over a month
3.Have you been 100% analog free since you started vape? Yes :)
4.How many PVs have you bought in total and how much have it cost you? 2 PV's - approx $100.00 total
5.How many PVs do you use today? 2
6.How much do you spend on attys/e-juice & other stuff per month? Like I said, I'm impulsive/spoiled, so I've gone overboard, lol - probably about $200.00 total
7.Estimated amount of money in total you have "invested" in vaping? Around $300.00 thus far

And a follow-up:

8. Have you plans to buy a new PV within the next 6 months, how much do you plan to spend? Yes, I am getting a Vgo (ego type PV) and Kit is $49.00

WOW that is really in depth but question 1. About $350 mth give or take 2. Closing in on 6mths 3. No cigs since day one 4. 8 pvs and roughly $300 ( give/take ) 5. 3 6.$150 ( give/take ) 7. Probably close to a grand ( still less than when I smoked ) 8. Yes $125 This is my best guest without digging up all the reciepts lol but the key to all of this is I no longer smoke and my health ( feeling great ) has no price. But really something to make you think about or not. My thing is KEEP ON VAPING

I have been at this about 5 weeks and have recorded every penny:

How much did you spend on analogs (cigarettes) per month before you started vaping?

$250 per month. $8.50 per pack, pack a day.

How long have you vaped?
About 5 weeks

Have you been 100% analog free since you started vape?
Yes, after 2 days with my first PV I have been 100% analog free.

How many PVs have you bought in total and how much have it cost you?
2 kits, but here's where it gets tricky. I started with an NJOY kit I got at a gas station. I wasted about $150 on NJOY batteries and cartos, trying to make it work for me, even after I joined the forum and learned it was a poor device. Then moved onto an eGo kit, which I backed up with 2 Riva 510 batts. I now primarily use the Riva batts with LR cartos.

How many PVs do you use today?
Mainly I just use the Riva 510 batts. I use the eGo occasionally for lower-voltage, and I actually do use the NJOY maybe once a week for hands-free vaping while working in my shop.

How much do you spend on attys/e-juice & other stuff per month?
Now that I've got my main hardware squared away, I'm looking at about 75 ML of juice and 5 LR cartos per month. I just started DIY juice making, which is already saving me a lot, but I'll still buy a new pre-made juice here and there. I'm figuring about $35 per month in cartos, juice, and DIY supplies.

Estimated amount of money in total you have "invested" in vaping?
In the first month+, I've spent a total of $371.93 on vaping supplies. In the same time, I'd have spent $272 on analogs, so vaping has actually cost me $100 in the first month. However, about $170 of that money was wasted on the NJOY, and obviously I have to spend heavy early on to get the batteries, chargers, etc. Right now, my break-even date is November 13.

Have you plans to buy a new PV within the next 6 months, how much do you plan to spend?
I'm starting to think I might go ahead and get a vv (variable voltage) mod, and if I do decide to go with a mod, I'm just going to go all the way and drop $170 on a ProVari. But, I'll only do this after I've saved enough by vaping to pay for it. Maybe a Christmas present to myself... :)

  1. $11 a day, on average (Expensive in NYC)
  2. On day 13 now
  3. Yes, from a pack a day to 0
  4. 2 KR808 kits from Halo, one because I wanted to try and a second to have spare parts in case of problems once I'd made the switch
  5. I carry a PCC with 2 batts and some cartos and leave 2 batts at home as spares
  6. So far, about $130
  7. $270.67
Have a neat little excel 2007 workbook I use to keep track of my purchases, and how long it will take to break even. If I spend nothing else (which I can go for a while in theory as I'm pretty stocked up or have more on the way - but in practice, its hard not to keep buying stuff), I will break even in 11 more days.

Everything else is profit.

How much did you spend on analogs (cigarettes) per month before you started vaping?

About $50

How long have you vaped?

Since June 2011

Have you been 100% analog free since you started vape?

I vaped and smoked from June until September until I finally realized I didn't need analogs anymore and quit smoking for good on September 11.

How many PVs have you bought in total and how much have it cost you?

I bought the eGo starter kit for $60. A friend gave me an eGo-T to try as well. I bought an extra atty and battery, so I have four complete PVs. I rotate all of them with different flavors.

How many PVs do you use today?

Same

How much do you spend on attys/e-juice & other stuff per month?

About $20 a month on juice plus I buy dual coil cartomizers occasionally at $3 a pop.

Estimated amount of money in total you have "invested" in vaping?

I've spent $200 since June 2011, so I haven't really saved much as opposed to smoking. But now that I have the kit, all I need to buy is liquid and cartomizers, at least until a battery dies or something. I'm at the point now where I'm finally saving money. Regardless of the money, this is so much better for my health, so any expense is worth it.

Cigars: $50/m

How long have you vaped?
Over 6 months

Stopped on day 3.

How many PVs have you bought in total and how much have it cost you?
Gas Station PV and carts: $30
4 Riva Kits $120
Lots of contest PV's won. Sold Rivas and other gear. So it was a profit. Traded a PV for a GLV. No cost.
Bought another GLV $100. Sold the old GLV with batteries. New GLV cost out of pocket $20
Bought Buzz with profit and other sale of other vaping gear I didnt use. No cost out of pocket.

How many PVs do you use today?
2, GLV and Buzz.

How much do you spend on attys/e-juice & other stuff per month?
$40 average

Estimated amount of money in total you have "invested" in vaping?
No more than $250

And a follow-up:

8. Have you plans to buy a new PV within the next 6 months, how much do you plan to spend?
I already ordered it. Another Buzz.

I buy in bulk and sell or trade what I dont need. So I guess I can say I am at a profit financially, and cant even begin on the health aspects.

I spent over $200/month smoking easily and have vaped now for 10 weeks(Aug 23) and have only lit one cig since then and put it out quick.

I have 6 ego-t's with type a and b atties that a rarely use the atties and tanks with anymore, a GLV3 mini, and a Provari.

I usually use an ego-t batt with a boge carto, GLV3 with a resurrector with chibi tank and the provari with the boge 2.0 ohm with a chibi tank every day.

I would bet with all the juice and toys I have bought, my total is somewhere around $2300 and I plan to spend as little as possible over the next 6 months. I might have to order some juice and cartos but should be good on batts and juice for the time being

Geez, I don't even want to know at this point...

1. ~$180/mo.
2. 5 months
3. yes (remarkable how easy this was, actually, compared gum, patches, etc.)
4. 2 nice mods. Dozens of cig-a-likes and ego-ish
5. 2
6. This is where I went mad. Every kind of cartomizer & juice that looked the slightest bit interesting, I bought. Realistically going forward, $20x4 for regular juice, plus ~10 cartomizers @$1.30... = $90/mo
7. Probably in the $2500 range. It'll be a few years until the break-even point.
8. Not decided yet, but I'm sure there will be a couple. :)
