ethyl maltol crystals (TFA)

Does anybody know how I'm suppose to use the Ethyl maltol crystals I just got from WL. They were out of the liquad form soo I bought the crystals.
I'm assume to desolve the crystals in PG in a warm bath to desolve the crystals.

When i make some i put the 10ml bottle of EM in a 100ml bottle and top up with PG, or a smaller amount would be 9ml pg and 1ml by volume of crystals

As Menthologist writes, one part EM to nine parts PG - Shake, gently heat, shake, repeat ad nauseum

how are you measuring the 1 ml of crystals?

Better to measure solids by weight, in this case 1gram. Before I started mixing by weight I used 1/4 teaspoon crystals in 9ml PG, which is a little heavy as 1ml is closer to 0.2 teaspoons.

I add 1/4tsp to 10ml PG then heat on a candle warmer.

Question; When a recipe calls for .5ml of EM, you would use the liquid from the 1ml EM and 9ml PG mix and not straight EM crystals? I just ordered a 10ml bottle of crystals and want to make sure of the correct use before ruining any recipes.

Yes, .5 ml EM usually means .5 ml of a 10% EM solution

Pretty close... I believe it's 30ml per oz and 28g per oz ..... slightly less than gr = ml. I'm not smort enough to give you an actual #

At small amounts that's a good equal proportion.
