I didn't let it get that hot, though I let it get quite warm. Today, if when I get home it's still not dissolved, I will try once more, with some very hot water from the microwave. If that doesn't work, then I will just extract what I have with the syringe and try it out.

Try with really hot water from hot water tap. Too hot to put hand in but not boiling. Never had a problem and I use 1/4 tsp to 8 ml Of PG.

Sure your measurements were correct ???

I'm stumped. I've followed this procedure several times (making batches of straight EM and EM w/tobacco absolute, both for myself and with a friend), and it's never failed to produce a crystal-free liquid after a half hour or so.

One question does come to mind. When you say "warm", how warm do you mean? I should have been more specific about this... my idea of "warm" is the temperature of very hot coffee. Say, 175 degrees or so.

What % of EM to tobacco? Thanks

It depends on what you are mixing. Pure tobacco absolute is pretty much botulism-strength, so most people seem to add 1% to 10 mL of EM/PG solution. I've also used EM/PG as a carrier for TPA's tobacco extract (different than 'absolute'), which seems to be a little less strong.

Some people seem to be sensitive to the taste of EM and can't use much at all. Like panachronic said some people use the super concentrated tobaccos in a 10% EM/pg solution. EM tends to round out those harsh notes that some tobaccos have, you will need to experiment to find what's best for your tastes.

I respect those that do this but still don't understand it.

The harsh notes are why I smoked, and they're why I vape to accos in the first place!

I mix my tobaccos with and without. Some days I like them straight up and some days on the rocks (EM rocks that is).
