I believe I have, twice...

First happened a few months ago.. was a clove juice.. As I vaped it for a few hours, I noticed that my hands were itchy & then started to swell & hurt.. Other parts of my skin started getting itchy, too (precursor to hives). I stopped vaping it & took some Benadryl. Symptoms subsided within a couple hours, never vaped a clove juice again... I should note, was never allergic to smoking clove cigarettes

Second was more recently.. was a juice that was made from real peanuts (a Snickers-type vape)... Vaped some every day for 10 days before I finally figured out what was causing allergic conjunctivitis (aka pink-eye) & some skin itch.. Again, same cure: stop vaping the offender, and take Benadryl. Symptoms cleared up pretty quickly.. I have never been allergic to eating peanuts all my life

For both cases, I systematically ruled out other potential causes.. plus there was just too much "coincidence" for them not to be the culprits

Both cloves & peanuts are known to cause allergic reactions in some people.. And seems that vaporizing & inhaling them can sometimes set off a temporary allergy that wasn't present before

Have you suspected any allergic reactions due to particular flavors before? Not looking for a brand/juice name, necessarily.. but just the offending generic flavor, as well as your symptoms & cures...

Smart move taking the Benadryl. But yes, something in Chai Tea flavor gets to me. Don't think it's cinnamon as I've vaped in a couple other juices (though could be...). Cloves have been no issue for me -- and don't believe I've vape peanuts. Since some flavors contain "natural" ingredients, they certainly could cause allergies. I've also wondered if "artificial" flavors, as they're copied from natural flavors, might potential cause an allergy. I'll certainly avoid cedar flavors just in case...

What symptoms did you get when you vaped the Chai Tea?

Anyway, I'm not a chemist by profession, but given how artificial flavors are produced, which can closely mimic natural flavors in their structure, I'm guessing they, too, could potentially produce a similar allergic reaction..

Allergies are a threshold reaction i.e. the body tolerates varying amount of exposure to varying numbers of irritants for varing periods of time before reacting. In my case mountain cedar pollen was at high levels during the time -- and that's my worst allergen. But I had itching, flushing and then irritated lungs and sinuses, drainage and moist cough. After the mountain ceder cleared, I tried a couple more toots to verify and noted mild flushing and headache. So yeah, no more for me.

I'm also allergic to cedar. Question is, which flavors contain cedar so I can steer clear of them?

I don't know of any per say. However, "cedar" flavoring is sold for mixing; likely with tobaccos. I don't think they are widespread. If you steer clear of any with "cedar" in the description, you should be fine. And always keep some Benadryl on hand. Take with hot tea, crush or use the liquid for faster absorption . If you're not see improvements within twenty minutes, or your airways start to close, get to the ER. Disclaimer: I'm not in the medical field and have no such expertise.

There is something in Virgin Vapror's that i may have a slight allergic reaction to. Most of the flavors i have tried from them were 100%vg, but a couple were higher PG ratios. Most of the flavors make my mouth tingle in an unpleasant way. I have never had any itching/swelling/etc, but there is something in their base that doesn't work for me. Others have reported similiar things on the forum here, but other swear by them as there go to vendor.
