evic 510 thread loosen problem (can not connect any atomizer)

I purchased evic from bargain vapours but 2 months later ego/510 connection tread loosen and i can not use with vapeonly or other kind of atomizers.my question is anyone knows how to fix it or happened someone before or am I the only one?is it possible to change only the 510 connection thread of the evic or what I have to do?

Same thing happened to me! Dammit! I was thinking of re-tapping the connection with the 7mm x .5 threading, but to do it "correctly" you have to drill it all out and use a replacement 7.. x .5 insert and I don't think there is enough depth in the connection socket to do it without damaging the power connection. I was trying to figure out if the threaded components can be detached from the head but it looks like its cast on there and I am afraid of breaking it if I try to take it apart.
There are also some "thread repair" kits which are basically an epoxy you mix and then apply to the threads, looks like it's just JB weld, maybe with a different composition.
For now, I've managed to fit a 510 - 510 adaptor on there so I can still vape, but it makes the mod look pretty ugly since the tanks protrude out a bit.
Been thinking about just ordering a replacement control head and eating the $75 or whatever... or just go for broke and get a Provari!
Let me know if you figure out a good fix for the 510 threading!

Same thing happened to me. The first one was so bad that I returned it for an exchange.

The second one was better but still REALLY loose.

My solution was to buy an air flow controller adaptor from Gotvapes, Took the top part off (as I really just wanted it for SOLID tight threads, not airflow control). Screwed it as tight as I could so when I unscrew a tank it unscrews from the air flow adaptor NOT the airflow adaptor unscrewing from the eVic.

This is what I purchased - Tank Air Flow Controller for 510 by SMOKtech [gv-SMOKtechTANKAirFlowController] - $3.45 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

With and without my drunker tank installed

Note I removed the top part of the airflow adaptor as I just wanted it for the threads

thanks for your post I will buy one.but it is very disappointed to see evic's built quality is very cheap

that airflow controller looks a lot better than other adapter alternatives i've seen. i'll have to give that a try. i just ordered another evic too. it was cheaper than buying another control head by itself :?:

I bought another evic too but same thing happened too. especially when using vapeonly may cause damage it.

That is a handy piece of information.

My AGA T2 won't thread at all, my Protank threads, but is wobbly, cartos seem ok. So it seems the problem is more in the evic threads than the atty I'm using, based on my limited sample size.

I was thinking it was because I remove/install tanks too often.

I just bought an evic and since I had read about thread wearing issues I decided to do some preventive maintenance to see if I could head off the wear issues - at least prolong the life a bit. I bought some spray on quick dry graphite lubricant and stainless steel thread adapters. What have been doing is this....

1. Use the stainless steel thread adapters on any new juice delivery devices to remove any burrs or other rough pieces from the threads.
2. Apply the graphite lubricant to the evic and the Protank threads
3. Let the lubricant dry onto the threads

I hope this will help a little in the long run but time will tell.

Cheers

My eVic is completely useless now too because of the threads. Only thing that it is good for is if I need to check ohms I can hold the atomizer onto it and read them. I have tried several different connectors (510 to 510, 510 to ego, airflow...) and only one worked for about a week but now it no longer stays on either. Has anyone came up with any other crafty tips to make this $100 device more than a glorified ohm meter because I am not spending $75 on a new head just to have it happen again.
