This has only happened twice yet it is un-nerving as hell. Am I doing something wrong?

When I first got my Evic I put and EVOD on it. I took it just past the point of where it tells you that the Atomizer has been recognized. About an our later I decided I wanted a different juice so I began twisting the EVOD off, it was still full of juice. The tube came off but the base of the tube and Atomizer was still on the battery. juice went every where including down into the compartment where the clearo screws onto. I got the base off and diligently clean the the compartment. My next 2 EVODS did fine. I put a different EVOD on yesterday and took it off today to refill. It came off perfectly. Later this evening I went to take it off to put it on my back up EGO-C to give the Evic a break and once again the tube came off but the base and Atomizer were still attached to the Evic. And once again Juice went every where. Is this common with the Evic? Because if it is I will sell my Evic and get 2 1300mAh EGO-Cs or Painfully (to my wallet) get the new Provari.

By twisting the EVOD just past the point of recognition of the Atomizer am I twisting to far? The Base on the EVOD is very secure to the tube itself.

i have an evic and mine does that too sometimes. i just learned that to prevent juice from falling out , i just turn it upside down while removing it from my mod. if it gets stuck , i saved myself from a gloppy mess. what u can do is take a small amount of vaseline and lightly coat the threads..and i mean just a little. you shouldnt have problems after that.... just habitually i still remove it upside down.. just incase.... but no messes lately :) hope that works.

Hi Radar2013!

I also use an eVic but with a Kanger ProTank, sometimes the bottom part gets stuck and dosen't want to unscrew off, I just grip with plyers to remove or unscrew upside down like DurrtyMethodz recommended above. I think this occours as it heats and cools, possibly leaking very tiny ammounts of liquid and then causing it to get stuck! Happens on my TS3 tank with vision spinner as well! If you happen to have a spill, like you mentioned, just clean immedately like you stated and all should be fine. If down the road you notice corrosion on the head of the eVic, clean with distilled white vinegar on a Q-tip, that will remove it beautifully and add longevity to your device. EVic is a fine product imo, just have to get accustom to its quirks...like any device. :)

It happens with a lot of different devices. I've had it happen on a Vamo V2 - luckily I caught it before I ended up with a juicy mess.

Knowing is half the battle - there are APVs that have removable top caps (like the V3, SVD etc.) that you can remove to grab a hold of the EVOD base.

Getting a provari means you will have to get an adaptor for your EVODs anyway. So perhaps you should buy an adaptor for them to use with your eVic. That will raise up the base of the EVOD and allow you to grasp it when you are removing it - but it will look a little 'unfinished'

As the poster above mentioned, perhaps trying some lube on the threads of the eVic will help, although I would recommend noalox not vaseline (only because the smell of vaseline is horrible to me)

Finally, make sure the bases of your EVODs are screwed in snug. I am sure you already thought of this, but thought it worth a mention.

This has happened to me before. I started unscrewing the evod without paying attention and all the remaining juice came out. I thought this was a user error which I screwed the evod tighter than the head of the evod. I've since learned to pay attention and either take off the top cap or make sure the head is on tight.

Three really good ideas,

1. Noalox, Provape recommends this for the Provari, a tiny dab on the threads makes your APV threads silky smooth. I use this on all my APV's. You find it at places like Lowe's, Home Depot, and probably most decent hardware stores. I found it at Lowe's in the plumbing section, way down on the bottom shelf in a very small box, so it might be easier to ask.

2. Adapter, Evod is really made for Ego's, raising the connection up with an adaptor ensures you will be able to grasp the base of the Evod.

3. Turning the entire set up upside down, this way you avoid a mess if your base stays on the APV.

Not the first thread I have read about this happening. I had been using an Evod on my Mini Zmax with no problems, after reading about someone else having this same issue, me, being a genius and all, took the Evod off the Mini and put it on the Zmax V2, then I removed it, and lo and behold the base stayed put. Wiley Coyote has nothing on me when it comes to inspired stupidity.

Weren't you asking about the Evic and other APV's a few days ago? If so congrats on the Evic.
