Hi guys,

I'm back with more issues. I just can't win.

I got an eVic to replace my broken MVP (will send it back sometime soon). I took it away last week to a shooting competition and it was great.

However, I'm at work now and it needed charging. I found someones phone cable and plugged it in. It fits and is charging but the charge level keeps changing. It was saying 26% before, then it was 55%, now it's jumped all the way down to 6%.

Any ideas why this might be happening? Is it just cos I'm using the wrong cable? (I know I shouldn't, but it's all I can do).

Also can't get it to re-install the firmware from MVR. Certain features of MVR work and some don't. It's strange.

Cheers,

James

Do a factory reset. Then install the new firmware. Hope it will resolve the problem.

Also, I'm guessing you plugged that cable to a computer, right? That USB port may not be supplying enough power to charge it and may actually be doing the reverse (not enough power to charge, but having that screen on while 'charging' is using more energy than recharging)

Likely a junk cable. However as another said. Charging and playing with it is counter productive.
I doubt the PC is an issue. Very rare to fine any newer PC that cannot supply enough power to charge at under 500ma.

Now, I very Very highly recommend Backup batteries and a Good external charger.

Reflashing - same as a PC's BIOS. If 1.3 is installed it will not try to install 1.3 again. or any other version over itself.
Factory reset, or flash another version - then if needed flash back.

The more you play with the ROM the better the chance of Bricking it.
