So coming out of one of the employee exits at work to meet my wife so she can pick me up. My left knee had been acting up a bit so I thought it wise to stay off of my bike for a few days.

So as I clear the doors and start down the many concrete steps I see that the pool guys are working on one of the pools the bank has (Oh I work for a bank BTW; LOL) Under one of the trucks I notice water bubbling up through the asphalt. The first thing I think is a water line had broke. So I negotiate the first set of stairs and move across the landing to the second set of stairs. I stop for a sec to get a better look just before I start down again. Hmmm, I think and start down again.

I get to, what I thought was the last stair and stop to look again (Darn my old plumbing background anyway.) I'm still trying to decide if it is in fact a water main leak when I take that last step down. Only to find out it isn't the last one. My left leg misses that last step and comes down hard on the final landing. That knee and I have a pretty long history together and both knees have always popped and creaked but these last few years they have really been acting up. In fact I had finished a series of Prolo therapy on them a few months back and they seemed to greatly improve.

But my left knee did not enjoy that unexpected impact. Crunch and then the knee said "ok, I'm going to let you fall now" and down I went. whump! My twist bounces off the concrete with a clatter and my eVic is in my right pants pocket. So I lay there a bit( :) ) and after a few seconds I decide to get up. That was a painful process. So I pick up all my stuff that got scattered (laptop back pack and lunch pail) and hobble to the street (screw looking at that water again!). My wife sees I'm limping so she moves the car closer. I toss my stuff in the back and get in the front seat and pull my eVic out of the pocket. It had turned itself off and I first thought I had killed it. (a minor concern over my left knee screaming). But once I got my knee in a position where it was somewhat happy I tried turning on the eVic. It came right up. Whew!

So we get home and I get out of my work clothes, have a quick bite to eat, get a pain pill and put ice on my knee. A bit later my wife has decided I'm not going to die so goes to the gym to work out. (Yes go, I'm fine dear. :) ) I decide that I want to watch a movie and attempt to get up, forgetting I have my eVic on my lap.

WAP! (Assorted curse words) My eVic has crashed to the floor. The CartoTank looks wrong. Crap I killed it! Nope it just needed to be reseated and the eVic detected it and has been working like a champ.
In fact, no dings, chips or scratches. In fact it is better off than I am. LOL!

joyetech, you make a tough device. Wish I could say the same for my knee. :D

Lol nice story. I have a bad knee too, four wheeler accident.
My evic has had a few incidents as well and has come out ok. I went to chase my kid and it jumped out of my pocket and got kicked about 15 ft. I thought it was done for when it didn't light up. I just had to turn it back on, no problems. Fell of my counter a few times and rolled off the hood of my truck. Not a scratch.

Every time... I think the battery just loses contact on the top so shuts down.
That is my thought also. I think the spring absorbs the shock when it can and gives the battery a bounce.

As for my knee, it is getting better but I'm still using a cane that I got from my father in law after he passed. It's a novelty cane so it is more cool looking that useful but it is helping. I have ordered a real cane from Cane Masters and plan to use it from now on. I remember my Dad being real stubborn about using any walking assistance devices and he fell several times.

The cane is solid oak and is called a double grip street cane. It is a walking cane but also a self defense cane.

It sucks having a broken wheel but on the flip side you could make your new accessory into a giant pv :)
I have this ugly brace I slap on from time to time when it acts up...

I have been impressed by the evic, it's not a power house but does make a nice vape. I almost didn't get it due to all the mixed reviews. I'm glad I did.
