Evic, vision aurora and 1.4ohm atty frustration

After not being able to make my mech mod safer (vapesafe wouldn't fit at all) and just not liking the look or feel of the vamo I bought an evic. The evic is...ok, lots of interesting stuff and I have ordered an end cap and top to hopefully (they are not here yet) merge the two and get the best out of both worlds (18350 size with stainless steel weight and all the bells and whistles of the evic). So next up was the atty situation. I LOVE my igo-w for clean flavor, th and vapor but, I am not really skilled at wrapping coils yet and not 100% comfortable doing them on my own. So, I purchased two 1.5 ohm atomizers to drip and a vision aurora thinking that they would tie me over until I find a solution (something that meets my vaping needs while being attractive on the evic). Well, all three came this morning and the the vision won't fit my evic unless the top of the evic is removed (ugly), so I guess I need an adapter that's different from the one I currently have. The attys fit (still not pretty) BUT, the vision nor the attys will produce vapor on my evic. The atty ohms read at 1.4, the sec. timer on the evic runs when the button is pushed but no vaper. The attys and the vision will vape on my ego. My questions are as follows;
1. Is there a way to make the attys and vision vape on the evic? What am I doing wrong?
2. Any suggestions on a drip shield, or even better a really simple kind of highend looking drip atty (no rba or rda) to pair with my brushed stainless steel evic body that won't give it that screw driver with bare threads visible look? Or at the very least something that will make it look like a more attractive screw driver?
Thank you in advance.
