So my mom, being clumsy, keeps dropping her mod. The last one was an IPVD2 that now has a broken/stiff button. So I am thinking about ordering her an Evic-VTC Mini as a replacement. (I am like her vape slave. I am who she calls if she clicks the wrong button or needs a coil rebuilt).

Is the Evic still the king of single battery TC mods? I think she prefers a single battery mod (that and I don't trust her to keep her batteries married, etc.). I am wondering if there are any others I should consider besides the Evic as of Feb. 2016 (for anyone who reads this thread months from now).

The Evic Mini is a great mod, not so sure it's a the King though :)

Think of it as an opportunity to help someone who loves you, and who gave you your life in the first place;)

I'm sure the "slave" comment was tongue in cheek. The display on the evic Mini may well be the best around, at least within its price range. Easy to read and easy to navigate. The performance is certainly adequate although battery life isn't exactly outstanding. Don't know how it'll stand up to being dropped, though. Maybe a silicone sleeve or one of the thick leather/faux leather sleeves might help, don't know. Or maybe have her try a lanyard?

The "twists", iSticks and their clones are popular and simple. VV and VW vaping Kanthal with little or no menus to mess or fiddle with are good beginner choices.

Personally since I have a 'geek' background I think the VTC mini would be an ideal beginner setup. Small, light, full featured and inexpensive. Set it up for VW and teach the user how to get OUT of the menu if they get into it by accident.

I ordered a vtc mini from fasttech. When I did that I also got a silicone sleeve and a couple of faux leather sleeves. I prefer the faux leather one because it's easier to get in and out of a pocket. So she might drop her mod less if it has a sleeve on it.

Maybe she'll mind the size wouldnt she?

I instantly thought of my dad (I'm his vape slave) and if I ever had him switched to something bigger than a vape-pen, I'd get him an eLeaf Basic Stick. No screen, no exposed tank, no coil/TC confusions, no hassle.
Yep great little simple setup. Very shirt pocket friendly. The GS Air 2 coils seem to lats forever. 5 or 6 weeks so far on mine and still on the first .75 coil.

I'm trying to decide on a single 18650 mod, and I'm particularly looking a build quality. Temp control is a must, I can't decide between the eVic mini and the Vape Forward Lite. Is there any advice you can give me? Is there another mod I should be considering also?
The VTC mini is a nice little mod. I have one. The Vape Forward lite is as nice as well and from all the reviews I have seen a bit nicer build quality. Both are Joyetech products and should perform similar in vape quality.
