Just spent a frustrating hour messing with my eVic! It stopped working so I went to reset it. Got a error message that the USB was faulty/would not recognize the eVic. Uninstalled/reinstalled MVR a couple times and now it reads and works again.....BUT.....if it does not have a atty connected the "charging" mode stays on!!!!!

Crap!!!!! Now it will not work again!!!!! Help...anyone?!

I didn't think it is necessary to "paste" in the code.bin on version 1.2. I could be wrong.

Thanks for the tips!!! I have ran through all the above but one question I have: Where is the "code.bin" i am supposed to copy and paste found? When I reinstalled the MVR the file is already in the HEX folder. I could not find the replacement in any of the program files.

Try running the MVR program as an administrator

I’m a firm Believer that many times when they add a dozen Bells and Whistles to something simple, that it is just More to Go Wrong.

Hope you get things going and Remember: Always have a Backup PV.

I sooooo agree. This eVic was a coop buy with a very nice price. I would be super BS if had paid full retail. The Provari has been the workhorse.

Flint you are right, its just a download. Finally got it working again as should but I really did not do anything but uninstall/reinstall a few times along with acouple smacks on the table.............

Well everyone sees these things differently. I like all the bells and whistles and that eVic is trying to do some unique stuff. Sure, there are bumps in the road. But these risks lead to improvements if eVic stays with it and listens. So far they have. The device has a structural weakness at the spot where the electronics meet the atomizer head. I broke mine there dropping it on some concrete from about 15 feet. Do I blame the eVic, the Chinese, and poor craftmanship? No. I mishandled my device and I repaired it with a bit of precision soldering. Are there glitches? Yep, and the threads on my 510 are already showing signs of wear. If I have to buy a replacement head I will march right out and get it. I will still have spent less than a Provari. This is not a criticism of Provari by any means. On May 29th, I will order a Provari for my 1 year smoke free anniversary. I know I will not regret that purchase.

I expect the 2.0 version of the eVic to improve on both of these issues. If they improve as much as the firmware has from 1.0 to 1.2, eVic will be doing something really great for its brand.

Little secret: If the eVic gets locked up or goes spastic, don't just pull the battery and reconnect.
All residual power needs to dissipate so it will COLD BOOT.
Remove the Battery, pulse the power switch several times to cause micro voltage discharge. lay the battery tube aside for about 30 minutes.
Re-install the battery tube, power on and allow the eVic to fully power up. Do Not get in a hurry to check things or head into a menu.
Once it is fully up, take a test Vape. If all is well, it should be back to normal.

eVic is more like a PC than people realize.
