HI guys,
Had a problem with some EVOD BCC clearos that I bought for my innokin v3.
Basically - when I screwed the EVOD down onto the innokin which as you know is an eGo Threading fitting, I couldn't get a drag off the tank, it felt like it was blocked.
So I cleaned out the 3 little air intake holes and still nothing.
Wanting first to strangle my supplier, and noshing through some nicotine gum I put the pin back in the grenade and looked at it from a mechanical engineering point of view.
Whats the issue?
.
looking at the INSIDE of the screw fitting on the EVOD that attaches the EVOD to the Innokin Thread fitting, the three 1mm air holes seem to be drilled out either at the top of the thread, or fractionally within the thread itself, so when you screw it down securely on the Innokin v3, the thread on the Innokin stem actually blocks the air holes, now whether that's because the Innokin stem is too long or the EVOD is drilled too low, I don't know, but even so.
OOps manufacturer - not clever.
So heres a hack that might help.
Where do I look?
look inside the EVOD at the bottom, there should be a non threaded bit, approximately 3mm deep just above the threads, your air hole should be directly in the middle of this from a operational perspective. - likely it wont be, it will be in the threads. - and that's your problem.
What do I do?
So, get a 1mm drill bit in your DIY drill, drill a hole from the outside, directly above the original manufactured hole so that the two holes are almost touching (don't join them)
Now when you screw on the clearo, the holes will not be blocked by the threads.
You can start with just 1 extra hole and see what the draw is like, I did 2 and its more than enough. puffing away like a little choo choo train.
What are the alternatives?
1) Keep spending money on hit and miss EVOD clearos
2) Keep sending them back and getting another hit and miss clearo back.
My advice on this one, just try my idea, if it doesn't work, then speak to your supplier.
How about that little beauty - please rate my awesomeness.
Later.
